2 November 2009 at 9:58 pm #11868I think it will be another of those January transfer windows waiting for signings to happen only for none to emerge until the final day of the transfer window and we sign a free transfer ”whose not ready for the premiership but one for the future.”

Sorry forgot to add to the original post that only genuine posters need discuss as multi posters arn’t intitled to their views 8-)
2 November 2009 at 10:14 pm #11872I am very hopeful of us getting Ben Arfa, however if it happens I will streak at the DW.
We need a few new signings though, a right back, centre back, right winger (if sinclair’s never going to play) and a quality stirker. Unlike that waste of space Jason Scotland!!

3 November 2009 at 1:01 am #11914Matthew kilgallon – Sheffield United
Good centre-half who I have just watched put in a decent performance at left-back on television in the defeat by Newcastle United.Roberto Canella – Sporting Gijon
Spanish U21 international who many consider to be one of the best in Spain3 November 2009 at 1:27 pm #11942Latest rumours from various latics websitesJosip Simunic -Defender

I’d be amazed at Ben Arfa but it seems to be fairly common knowledge that McCarthy is not flavour of the month at Blackburn.
I see on the BBC that Portsmouth are looking at Benjani again. He could definitely do a job for us.
3 November 2009 at 1:36 pm #11945I seem to recall some time ago, when we appointed Bobby, and then he went after Scotland and Gomez, that everyone was pleased. Not only with the appointment of the manager , but also Gomez and Scotland. It now appears that one of these two will emerge as the latest Latics whipping boy. We always have to have one don’t we, going back to the days of Geof Wright and more latterly Gary Teale.
Why can’t you lot just support the team instead of being negative all the time.
Gomez will prove to be a good signing, give the lad time.3 November 2009 at 1:42 pm #11947I seem to recall some time ago, when we appointed Bobby, and then he went after Scotland and Gomez, that everyone was pleased. 3 November 2009 at 3:02 pm #11959Simunic is too old.
Was really good, 2 or 3 years ago, when he was at Hertha. I saw him playing for the a few times when I went over there.
Too old and slow for Premiership now.
We SHOULD have snapped up Marko Pantelic in the summer. Left Hertha on a Bosman and went to Ajax. He’d have been a handy player for us.
I’d like to see this Tamudo come to us.
3 November 2009 at 3:38 pm #11963Benni McCarthy to replace King, and Tamudo brought in to add depth, I could live with that. Just a centre half and a full back to replace Figureoa and were heading for Europe.
