At the risk of annoying Griff with a speculation post a thought has occurred to me which I don’t even know my own feeling about.
We all by now from the other Europa League posting hopefully are aware of the possibilities, fine points, possible pairings etc.
But this is a personal question.
Would you rather we were in a weak group, where we may actually stand a chance of qualifying, or would you like us to be in a “strong” group – a group of big names – that would be exciting to see play at the DW.
You know, a group with Milan, Celtic and Rapid Wien or Liege, Salzburg and Apollon Limassol?
The way we are currently playing, is there no possibility of us being in a group with TNS, Derry City, Hindley Celtic rezzies and a batch of flourescent cones? :blink:

What a journey!Personally, I think whoever we get drawn with we’re going to be rank outsiders for progressing to the next stage. So, I’m just looking forward to three mini holidays, hopefully with a bit of late summer sun involved please (Spain, Portugal, Greece) :)
At the risk of getting splinters in my sphincter, i’m going to sit on the fence and say a nice mix.
I want one big team from pot 1, some one like Milan etc. and then preferably easier matches in decent destinations that we have a good shot of winning.
Milan v Wigan Athletic at the San Siro, Another fixture that when I started out as a Latics fan would only happen in my wildest dreams.But as we have all been privileged to witness over the years this is the club that’s makes dreams come true.
From Matlock to Milan, now there is a title for a book. Anyone care to write it? on the proviso we do draw them obviously. ;)

We’re playing crap at the moment and it won’t make a difference who we get because we’ll get stuffed by anyone we play JOKE .
What’s your book’s synopsis Griff ?Well, since you asked. I have two completed so far, with another on the way. That one is being co-written with another of this forum’s regular posters. Details of both books are below.

I’ll join you on that fence ross – exactly what I’d like too. No point being this competition if there’s no ambition to progress.

Contrary to what some might think, it takes quite a lot to annoy me.
It takes very little to get mne shaking my head and wondering what planet certain people are on from time to time, but life’s far too short to get annoyed about trivial stuff, particularly stuff that happens on this forum.
I want some big names I may never get the chance to see my little football club play again. No random places in Russia or Lithuania thanks.
I definitely want Valencia or Lyon, I just hope the away tie is in the second half of the draw as I can’t take holidays until the end of October so hopefully we play two home games and an away trip to the least appetising team in the first three games.
