Not a post about it. Thought there’d be more interest after the FA Cup win, just to p the blue moon w@nkers off if anything.
Anyway some stats:
•Manchester City have lost their last two home matches in the League Cup, conceding five.
•Wigan have won 4-1 in both their previous away ties in the League Cup third round – beating West Ham and Ipswich.
Therefore it is pretty obvious that this is going to be a 5-0 City win, as we are weeks into the season with no striker and Coyle is still a full kit w@nker.
24 September 2013 at 2:32 pm #121389I would like us to go in to every game with the intention to win it but I would happy to see the likes of Dicko, Fyvie and Nicholls starting in this game.
This competition has to be considered the lowest of our priorities.
24 September 2013 at 2:39 pm #12139124 September 2013 at 3:18 pm #121396Everybody realises that the programme is too heavy to play the first team in every game, and that we must spread the load across the whole squad.
Martinez recognised this too. He introduced squad players into the team for cup games and saved the first team for Premier League games. There were large numbers of complaints here about this practice, and posters urged him to turn out stronger teams.
Last season, we survived the early rounds and emerged to have a long run to the FA Cup Final. Just as Martinez feared, the squad proved too thin to compete in two competitions.
And yet, some fans continue to blame Martinez for relegation and abuse him for leaving us holding the FA Cup but playing in the Championship – the ingrates!
24 September 2013 at 8:55 pm #121411Don’t mind if we lose tonight so long as we aren’t embarrased.
24 September 2013 at 8:57 pm #121413Kids against City reserves(who’d be in any prem team), 5-0 wouldn’t be embarrassing .
24 September 2013 at 8:59 pm #1214145-0 is always embarrassing.

25 September 2013 at 1:17 am #121428Missed a trick tonight.
Should have had Watson on bench to come on to rapturous applause in the 90th minute.
25 September 2013 at 1:28 am #121429Coyle should be sacked tomorrow morning!
25 September 2013 at 1:34 am #121430At least we won when it mattered. Although the result tonight is poor, with the team we put out and the quality still on show from City, what could we expect.
We don’t need this competition, although that in itself isn’t an excuse for getting drubbed.
25 September 2013 at 1:40 am #121431The way Coyle has us playing is shocking sack him now DW hes damaging our club before we have no way back .
25 September 2013 at 1:45 am #121434don’t panic soft pap they brought on as subs £60 million up against a defence that cost 2 bob chill out
25 September 2013 at 2:10 am #121438McCann and Crainey are extremely bad signings ! I hope Coyle stops being obstinate where the former is concerned !
