looking at it now
i dont really think martinez was the problem he is doing ok at everton
i think the problem was soley whelan ,not willing to finance bobs project with extra funds
ok bob wasted money on bosseli ,but the guy is doing good now ,yes he already had a few decent players there
i really do think whelan has had his time now at the club and its time to sell
big question is who is daft enough to buy
so when bob asked for funds tight ass said no thats why he left
whelan saved the club but is now slowly dissmantling it bit by bit and bringing in shyte
coyle………. well enough said

TIME FOR CHANGESo it was Whelan’s fault that Nick Powell missed a sitter of a header from a few yards out, that Carson took out a player giving a needless penalty away, that we had two efforts hit the cross bar, that we had two efforts cleared off the line. Don’t talk daft mon, Whelan runs the club like a business and rightly so, why should he throw millions at players who may or may not take us anywhere.
We are where we are and we’ve been where we have been, because of Whelan.Your mum and dad could fork out a fortune for you to go to uni, but you still might end up stacking shelves at Asda.
Show a little respect for the man that has given you, me and thousands others an experience that we will cherish to the grave.
Yeh it would be great to get back in the Prem, but I am realistic to understand that we have punched above our weight to get and stay there for so long. I can also understand that the Championship will be no stroll in the park, especially for a newly put together team, so patience is a virtue.Slagging Whelan off at this stage is unbelievably short sighted and totally un-justified.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!20 October 2013 at 7:03 pm #122465Well said JR !
20 October 2013 at 8:00 pm #122466We are a small club that have been punching way above our weight for years because Whelan dared to dream and invest a hell of a lot of his money in his local team. Martinez had the best squad we have ever had available to him, but because of injuries and mistakes it went wrong in the league last year. Time to move on and get behind this new team and manager.
20 October 2013 at 10:40 pm #122471hate to say this but the dream is over and the future looks bleak

TIME FOR CHANGECrackin post !!! Was you booted out of winnick ozzy when they knocked it down ??
21 October 2013 at 1:51 am #122488Dont forget Martinez took over a top 6 side. They are currently 7th. I wish him all the luck in the world but fail to see how Martinez making a decent start equates to you forgetting that Whelan runs the club responsibly and ensures the books balance. In fact he is the perfect custodian. Aye. If only Whelan had backed him we would be in bloody Europe by now. Oh wait a minute!!!

wake up and smell the coffee its getting stronger ;)For crying out loud, every few month I keep trying to get the same point across in defence of Mr Whelan. Bicky, next time you take up your seat in the stadium just think about who it was that made it happen. Then ask yourself this question.
How many club owners of teams that have played in the Prem in recent times had to start off by building a ground first? Any names come to mind Bicky?
