Has he really got what it takes to be a effective premiership striker ? : My answer is a definate no , for me he lacks the pace and the goal scoring abilities and will be replaced if Martinez see’s what he is attacking other teams with but I guess the he needs time to adapt to this new level of football, but please shout out your opinions id love to hear them :D ! By the way Scharner was excellent against Fulham fair play to him !

I seem to recall our last front man who everybody thought was great, not being a goal scorer.

I thought he was excellent at Burnley but not much came off for him against Fulham. Then again, he was up against a very good centre-back in Hangeland.
To be honest, I think any front man would struggle to score many in this current formation and tactic. I think it is designed to bring the midfield players in more. I would expect it to be a tough role to play in the Premier League.

Leading scorer could be either Rodallega, or Scharner, put it that way.

Dont worry he wont. Wont face goal. One thing he is good at thoguh is quickly getting his back away from goal when he doesnt need to. 10/10 for that :D
12 November 2009 at 1:01 pm #12802I’m not sure the back to goal or one up front thing stacks up as he played all last season up front on his own for Swansea and scored about 30 goals, it can only be because hes playing against better defenders. But something will come his way soon. I don’t even remember him having too many chances yet this season, but when he does he’ll take it with his goal scoring record. People were calling Rodallega the new Aghahowa after half a dozen games. I understand why peole are getting shirty about it when we’ve only got one forward and Boycey has scored more than him this season but we have to judge him on a season not the first few games

I agree, give him a season then let’s see. And for those glass half empty people, it won’t be too late, we’ll be mid-table which considering the change in personnel at the club will be some achievement.
12 November 2009 at 5:17 pm #12826Cheers for replies :) and by the way im not judging him as a overall player it’s pretty much just so far in this season , but yeah i understand he has just came from the championship so I guess it takes time for the player to adapt to this new way of football and it’s fair to give the man time before making judgements. Again thanks :)
