I heard you the first time Christopher! ;)
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!14 March 2014 at 2:14 am #128651No idea what happened there. It’s just as funny the second time ;)
14 March 2014 at 3:41 am #128659I can’t argue with your selections but I think that the 4-0 1st half demolition of Newcastle in 2012 also deserves a special mention.

In the five games I listed, we were such over-whelming underdogs, that’s what makes them stand out for me.
But, opinions and arseholes… everybody has ’em!

These were the games we played back then
11 March: Norwich 1-1 Wigan
17 March: Wigan 1-1 West Brom
24 March: Liverpool 1-2 Wigan
31 March: Wigan 2-0 Stoke
7 April: Chelsea 2-1 Wigan
11 April: Wigan 1-0 Man Utd
16 April: Arsenal 1-2 Wigan
21 April: Fulham 2-1 Wigan
28 April: Wigan 4-0 Newcastle
To me the Newcastle game was the culmination of everything that came before it. The previous results despite the blip at Fulham meant they were full of confidence and it all came together to perfection in that 1st half.
Newcastle were 4th and strongly tipped for a Champions League spot and we took them apart with arguably our finest 45 minutes as an attacking force since God knows when.
Still like I said I can’t argue with your choices although as you appear to have a dislike of Liverpool I’m surprised you didn’t choose that game. :)
14 March 2014 at 10:22 pm #128678There weren’t any turn-ups with Owen Coyle.
He didn’t even wear long trousers.

I think it is partly because I wasn’t there :(

Nice one. Nearly didn’t spot that. It got hemmed in between a couple of other posts
15 March 2014 at 12:00 pm #128699I think it is partly because I wasn’t there :(I watched that game on “Ceefax” in a pub in Hawes with 2 laughing Evertonians.Technology hasn’t caught up with Wensleydale yet.
Nice cheese though. :)
