The 12th September will see the 1st anniversary of the death of Ray Dolby the inventor of the noise reduction system ‘Dolby NR’. A minutes noise reduction will be observed at all record stores! :)
The City of Manchester has far exceeded any other city in football terms and in my view there shouldn’t even have to be a vote. Manchester should be TheCity of Football, not our first City of Football.
I know it is more than just achievements on the pitch that go towards this award, but Portsmouth and Nottingham don’t appear to be major players to me, but stranger things have happened.Apparently there was a poll once as to which was the number 2 city in England.
The people of Manchester thought that Manchester was number 2 city.
The people of Birmingham thought that Birmingham was the number 2 city.
The people of Liverpool thought that London was.
According to some thing up on the wall of the school I work at in Liverpool, there was a Scouse campaign to take the capital city away from London & given to Liverpool due to the wealth in the city at the time. Hence why they started to name streets like parliament street & areas like Kensington.

I have had a number 2 in Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool. Manchester was the nicest.
