South African justice, hang your heads in shame. Absolute disgrace to give him just 5 years with the expectation he will be out in 8 to 10 month. He murdered that poor girl no question yet the low down bum will soon be free. If I go to work tomorrow and have an accident which results in the death of another motorist, I will get jailed for a longer stretch if im found to be at fault.
Little doubt he killed her intentionally; the prosecution couldn’t prove it.
The sentence is lenient, but her family were happily taking money from Pistorious after the killing.
Working in transport myself, I agree with your sentiments. My cousin’s husband avoided a prison sentence by the skin of his teeth after a collision in his HGV because he “opted” to plead guilty to death by careless driving. He was told he would get 5 years if found guilty of death by dangerous driving.
Stinks doesn’t it?
