Well we seem to be split right down the middle re Whelan’s remarks to the media and so the question is, is it really just a storm in a teacup, a mountain out of a mole hill, blown out of proportion and all the other cliches?

Leaving aside my bias for a club I’ve supported for 50 years it pains me to say that the appointment of Mackay, with the investigation still hanging over him, and more importantly the subsequent PR disaster that was Whelan has irreparably damaged the club.

This ain’t going away anytime soon.

Appointing Malky was risky and bound to attract criticism. DW’s subsequent comments about the MP and to the Guardian were a PR disaster.

So it’s a NO from me sadly.

But we are Wigan, we close ranks when the going gets tough and as today’s reaction before KO confirms, we still back our Chairman.
