Sorry, do you mean from THAT season, 96-97, or actually as in ‘Every game’? I’m assuming it’s the former.
For ages, I have wanted to obtain footage from 1986-87 (the cup run, etc), and the seasons immediately afterwards. I remember borrowing VHS videos off people years ago, with full season highlights on. I’d love to watch them again, on DVD. I believe that such an item would also sell very well.
I remember that you could buy match videos easily, at the old Springfield club shop.
Sure i remember hearing that the supporters club were looking into putting all their VHS’s onto DVD and making them avaliable to the fans in some way or another.
Every game that was recorded there, as Micron did the games that were then sent to ITV to be edited and shown later that night. Your probably right that it wasn’t every game, but I reckon most of the Football League games i.e. from 78 are there, I’ll find out.
That’s fantastic that, if that’s the case. Good lord!
If they were to put highlights DVD’s together, say in a kind of ‘series’, I.E. 78-82, 82-86, 86-90, and so on it would be great.
Or perhaps ‘Wigan Athletic Best Of The 80’s/90’s/etc DVD’s. 80’s could feature interviews with people like Graham Barrow, Ray Mathias, Alex Cribley, Bobby Campbell, etc. 90’s could have John Deehan, etc.
I’d be snapping them up. If a box-set was put together, for say, £50, I’d buy it. It really could be the best product to become available for years, if not ever.
Please mention it, JayT. The thought that the footage is just lying there is crazy. This could show young fans who exactly people like Bobby Campbell are/were.
