On a debut home win. Chuffed as a butty with the home win but that’s about all.
The starting line up was awfully negative and the opening twenty minutes was dire. Plenty possession but passing around the midfield and defence but going backwards. Sleep inducing football. Kept plenty possession through the first half but only equalled Brighton on shots. Thankfully for young Chows goal and all round good performance. Second half Brighton mullered us for long periods and it wasn’t until McClean was moved into position and the two strikers brought on that we started to dominate. McClean should have scored in the first half and Kim should have in the second. Please Gary start with the two strikers and McClean in position next match and cut the tippy tappy boreing negative crap out and go for a win.18 April 2015 at 10:45 pm #141422No strikers was a p***take…..After all our problems up top surely MAF and Mckay worth a go.
18 April 2015 at 11:05 pm #141424Do you guys NEVER give it a rest?
18 April 2015 at 11:10 pm #141425Even I’m struggling to see a negative after a win and a few changes with a new starter/young un banging one in. Add to that 2 up front when Fortune worked hard for the goal and the negatives can wait for me!
18 April 2015 at 11:23 pm #141426Any other team ie wolves would of scored a pon full today we were terrible
18 April 2015 at 11:25 pm #141427OK look at it differently then. A great tactical change by Caldwell in bringing on two strikers and moving his left sided midfielder in to his natural position. This changed the match from one we were chasing to one where we were in accendency and eventually won. Well done Gary.
18 April 2015 at 11:58 pm #141429Of course I’m made up with a win but we weren’t good.As previous poster stated a better side would have mullered us again. As for the striker issue our forwards have scored around 4 or 5 goals between them all season. Blackburn who are around 10th in the league have 2 with 37 between them. Playing no striker’s in the last 3 games will see us down.

19 April 2015 at 1:27 am #141434The team has struggled against worse teams than this so it has to be positive even though the standard of football was dreadful at times.Bong ,McLean ,Maguire and Chow all stood out today and how good does it feel to finally get that home win jinx off our backs?
we are still going down but at least we have a bit of pride back and Chows performance is a clear message to get some of our kids into the first team.
congratulations gary indeed!19 April 2015 at 5:25 am #141436The team has struggled against worse teams than this so it has to be positive even though the standard of football was dreadful at times.Bong ,McLean ,Maguire and Chow all stood out today and how good does it feel to finally get that home win jinx off our backs?

From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!19 April 2015 at 6:12 am #141437I would say that it’s a typical Wigan thing if the original poster wasn’t an out of towner.
I thought only rugby fans were from outside Wigan
19 April 2015 at 12:54 pm #141444What is wrong with congratulating the manager? A well deserved win through a tactical change is a good trait to see too. The stubborn aspects of our previous few managers, sticking rigidly to ideas has got us in this shite in the first place so again well done Gary. Is praise something that isn’t done in Wigan or something Shell man?
20 April 2015 at 12:53 pm #141472Nothing. Aside from the first two lines though that isn’t what you did.
