    really deserve the sack ?
Thought he was doing a reasonable job. Okay,a shakey start to the season; but they’ve only played eight games.

Well he finished a job that Roberto couldn’t finish and so got a high profile job, he was thrown to the lions going to Liverpool! Roberto on the other hand after failing took over a struggling Prem club that had no pressure to do anything, won a major piece of silverware and then took them down! He then took over at Rodger’s chief nemesis club and despite doing no better than the previous manager remains in the hotseat! Clubs and their respective ambitions eh!

Liverpool were not playing good football at all. He has spent a small fortune and didn’t seem to know his best side / formation?
Klopp seems to be fans favourite to replace him.

He didn’t though really did he? From what I’ve heard of this transfer committee, the manager’s involvement is quite limited & (as far as I’m aware) this structure was the reason that Bobby didn’t take the job – Both said they wouldn’t work under their original proposed structure, they came back with an amended one, Bobby still said no but Brendan said that he’d work with it.

Part of the problem however appears to be that the owners still don’t see any issue with what they’ve put in place & who it has brought in (even though some of the players are cack) but feel that a different manager could get better out of the same players. That may well be true to some extent but they also need to look at themselves coz most Liverpool fans will tell you that even leaving some of Rodgers errors to one side many of the players the structure has brought in just aren’t good enough

Spent nearly 300 million and won no trophies in his 3 year stint.
Latics are more successful than the once mighty Liverpool if you gauge major trophies as success which I most certainly do.

Yes I’ve heard all that talk too, but i’m sure I seem to recall Rogers saying in his early days that HE brought players in? Then about 12months ago he started saying WE (the committee) chose players?? Make up your own mind, but i’m pretty sure he would have had a say in it. Some clubs can over complicate a simple process..
His best season was with the team Dalglish’s left him. From what I’ve seen of them this season they could well finish below Chelsea :)

He was a member of this “committee” so he has to shoulder some of the blame as he has an input but it’s widely known that he didn’t have a veto or a leading role in it – I read on the BBC website on Monday that journalists know that signing Firmino for £29mill wasn’t a signing that Rodgers wanted & that at least 2 signings he did want (Ashley Williams & Ryan Bertrand) were knocked back by the committee

The whole committee set up was the reason Bobby wouldn’t go there & his history at Latics in effectively forcing Benson out of the door when he disagreed with his Boselli signing is indicative of how he wants full control over transfers & also that he wouldn’t have had that at Liverpool.

That said, some of Rodgers tactical decisions as his reign went on seemed to get more & more baffling & if I got a £7mill+ pay off from my current job they could blame me for anything as much as they wanted to

It is difficult to feel sorry for prem football manager these days, especially as you say they get paid so handsomely. He knew what he was walking into as well.

So I fully expect him to be on a beach soon sunning himself. Until he gets bored and then gets another job..
