But he does now.
Who, you may ask.
Roberto, of course.
29 December 2015 at 12:04 am #146383That ref today at Highbury was the worst I’ve seen in all my time watching football. He could not distinguish between a foul and a bookable foul. Same for both sides mind, not just the tics.
Once you book someone early on for a nothing infringement, you set the tone for the whole match and he did.
I stopped counting after the sixth, bloody awful officiating, whoever you are. :angry:From Matlock to ManU

29 December 2015 at 1:11 am #146386Great celebration for the second goal with us in the posh seats and good banter with us in the posh stand and the commoners in the standing section well done the Tics.
29 December 2015 at 1:24 am #146387He was poor today the ref, but no more than the usual standard for this league. There are some absolute shockers around though
29 December 2015 at 1:40 am #146388Why we are not busting a guy to sign Yanic I have no idea. When he came on we created 5-6 clear chances from open play. It’s a real worry for me when he goes back as he gives us such a boost when he plays.
29 December 2015 at 1:55 am #146389And why the hell do we risk throwing away points by not starting Yanic especially when he only has two games to go?
29 December 2015 at 2:20 am #146390Don’t understand. Huge risk only playing him for 11 minutes given he carries more threat than the entire team put together. He’s letting Caldwell paper over a few cracks for me. Once he leaves I worry where our threat comes from.
29 December 2015 at 3:10 am #146391We won’t have one Roy. Will just have to hope walking it up the field works.

And maybe today was another test to see how we can play without him, and what do we need to replace him.

We (Wigan) won.
Post something about that instead.
29 December 2015 at 10:22 am #146394Why add to this post then, Standish Wanker ?
Suggest you check out the other posts for the day; there is a subliminal win type post.
P.S did you go to Highbury ?

Don’t worry Lostock Fella, Standish Wally isn’t bright enough to spot it ! The definition of subliminal is: of a stimulus or mental process) below the threshold of sensation or consciousness; perceived by or affecting someone’s mind without their being aware of it.
Enough said.
29 December 2015 at 1:34 pm #146396To be fair to El Caldweletez we have been in the situation of being behind or drawing on a number of occasions and making the changes as brought a result or revival and this has occurred both before and after Yanics arrival. This is what substitutes are for. I think the days of getting in the face of the opposition and an all out attack high pressing game pummeling the box with crosses from the wing and long balls for strikers to run on to are gone for us Latics fans. Patient build up passing out of defence and a brief return to a high pressing game when we need to is the way now. From the league position we can’t complain much and must applaude El Caldweletez but it is frustrating when we have players who can win games bench warming. Thank goodness Garyiberto isn’t as stubborn as his mentor and will make changes a little more often and he doesn’t complain much about the ref.
29 December 2015 at 1:41 pm #146397Didn’t think the ref was the worst I’ve seen, the 2nd half he let flow as much as he could, there wasn’t much happened in the first. Bookings deserved bookings.
As for Yanic, massive impact when he came on but he was genuinely goosed after a couple of runs. I was sat at the end of the segregation and Caldwell asked him if he was ok. Couldn’t even run the ball into the corner at the end. Very reminiscent of Mcmanaman for me, we’ve seen him start and he doesn’t last. Maybe why Kellett is now getting a look in for the work rate, which we need in this division.
McCann was superb when he came on, Griggs shoulders went back up when he got some help with Hiwula and we saw the result of the impact subs. Thought Perkins had his best game for us yesterday as well, some woeful distribution but was everywhere making a difference.
Would like to see Grigg paired with somebody, thankless task for 3/4’s of the game yesterday. Tempo in the 2nd half was the key to winning yesterday though, we have the quality to outscore teams so we should just go for it, like we did.
