Same old tired boring shit. Players out of position all over the park. It’s cold.
Paul jewel is here. How he must be thinking in the back of his head ‘What sort of football is this’ Haworth Barlow Liddle. Roberts Ellington McCulloch. The Wigan way.
Still there’s a second half to come and there’s time to turn this round!!8 January 2016 at 1:59 am #146516……

Still there’s a second half to come and there’s time to turn this round!!I’ll say it again, we created loads of chances with that formation, probably more than we’ve done all season. I think I must have been watching a different match than some on here, lets look at the stats when they come out.
Premature ejaculation Donny. :P
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!8 January 2016 at 2:42 am #146527And at half time I said there was time to turn it round. We continued in the same horrible way with The Gills taking it to us and they went two up deservedly. Almost making it three or four. Then the masterstroke and we took it to them. More pace, more urgency, more forward passing. Hiwula drawing players and McCann pushing forward.
What next v Sheffield ?
First half football or second?
By the way well done Gary for thirty five or so minutes.8 January 2016 at 2:47 am #146528And at half time I said there was time to turn it round. What a journey!8 January 2016 at 2:57 am #146530I know what you mean. At the final whistle we won and as long as we win we can put up with out.
8 January 2016 at 3:31 am #146531I know what you mean. At the final whistle we won and as long as we win we can put up with out.Yep. We have had shedfuls of moans on here that we play fancy football but lose. Loads of comments that we need sometimes to win dirty.
We won tonight – and not even dirty – but still people moan :(
8 January 2016 at 11:19 am #1465353 points but we are surely the most jeckle and Hyde team in the country at the moment .
65 minutes of garbage then bang a puff of smoke and we tore them apart for the remainder.
I’ll take that every week and looking at the table it’s time to take this promotion push very very seriously !!
Well done lads8 January 2016 at 1:07 pm #146539Our first goal said all that has ever been said by anyone who knows anything about football whether it be one up top, two or three.
Forward pulls wide gets a ball over 2 forwards in the box, 1 knocks it down for the main striker who scores. Movement, support, tempo, goal
Grigg is a different player with support. I can’t be the only one who thinks he doesn’t look to be enjoying his football with GC’s first choice tactics.
10 January 2016 at 6:22 pm #146612Just watched the video interview with captain Morgan after Thursdays’ game. It was interesting to hear what he said about the possession, passing tactics latics adopt.
He said I know the fans get frustrated, but its done for a reason, it gets the opposition very tired and the team can then capitalise on it in the final third of the game.
It’s not the way I really want the team winning, but if it works, fair enough. :woohoo:From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!11 January 2016 at 6:30 pm #146619I think it’s more a case of the excuse that fit’s best with what we do rather than it being an actual fact.
When he said it, I thought that’s one of the daftest things I’ve ever heard describe a tactic.Tiring teams out by keeping the ball works if you’re pinging it about at pace and them chasing it. I can’t see too many team getting knackered watching us play across the back and midfield, like we do. Anyway, we’ve already established it’s the impact of our subs and change of tempo which works in our favour plus the other team get deflated, losing a 2-0 lead and their momentum.

12 January 2016 at 5:06 am #146628It’s not about boring your opponents but tiring them. That can be done if the scores are level, but also when down. I am aware that what changed the game was an upping of pace but don’t dismiss the effect even when losing.
12 January 2016 at 1:10 pm #146629Don’t worry Horc it’ll be too cowd to be bored t’neet.
Well hope the tempo is raised a bit. What a difference that makes to the spectators.
Been 2 nil down many times but the crowd have been still up for it. Fans didn’t really get going last Thursday until we scored our first and then we speeded it up a bit. -
