Set up for it and got what we went for. I suppose that’s one of those draws they call a point gained. Thank fook this league is so shit this season that drawing over a third of your games can get you promoted. Watch out though it’s an home game on Saturday. A dull one or two nil will do I reckon. Well done lads in grinding out the point again.

Good job that Donny doesn’t support Burton, who set up with one up front at home and failed to win for the sixth consecutive game on their own turf.
20 April 2016 at 12:42 pm #148210Jees donny. Are you negative in life as you are with football. I for one will settle for that point gained & will also settle for a dull & boring 1 – 0 at the weekend, so long as its more points gained for our promotion push.
Performances mean nowt at this stage of the season, its points however they are gained. To quote that great philosopher of game shows “& what do points make…..”
20 April 2016 at 12:49 pm #148211As I have said all season performances mean nowt if you win promotion at the end of a season. Doesn’t matter how you play as long as you have more polnts than your rivals. Cambridge, Nob End, John Beck. Not many complaints from them just celebration of the points.

We have played Grigg up top on his Todd all season AL. Difference is we have had the resources to provide Grigg with a bit more support. Burton have done amazing considering their squad, resources and money.20 April 2016 at 1:12 pm #148215It was crap last night but the point is a good one.
The only place we’re trying to play football is at the back and that was dodgy to say the least, anything else was a long ball to Grigg.

Is it a shit league or are there more decent teams than the usual 3 or 4?
As somebody mentioned earlier in this thread, thank fek you’re not a Burton fan. Their GD is half ours and their top scorer has just 8 goals.
That last night was one of the most boring games I’ve been to this season, partly cos of all the whistle blowing going on every 20-30 secs.
I actually rate the football that’s been served up this season, it’s on par with the Championship if not better at times.
It doesn’t matter one shiny shyte how we do it, the task in hand is promotion and not playing all out attacking football just to please the likes of you and me. GC has and is doing a great job in his rooky season as manager of a football club. I’m actually over the moon that it just happens to be the one I support. :cheer:

What a journey!20 April 2016 at 10:31 pm #148223Sure I ended with Well done lads for grinding out a point again.
We are qualify on paper above Burton and Walsall and that qualify will show over the 46 games. Glass half full me JR defo.21 April 2016 at 1:13 am #148224Referee was one of the worst last night, ruined the game from early on. Burton fans after the match weren’t happy with him either.
I’d have taken a point before the game, but we did our best at times to hand all three points to Burton.. Disappointing we didn’t learn from the game at our place, passing it around the back against a team who defend from the front was seat of your pants stuff at times.
Perkins will be a big miss as our midfield looked unbalanced, and thought they had the better of it in the middle.

Thought he got a straight red JR?
21 April 2016 at 3:16 am #148234Red for a DAGSO is a one match suspension.
It’s three for a dangerous foul.
So he can be back on Saturday.Check out this (you’ll need to filter to League One)

21 April 2016 at 4:41 am #148237Was a very hard-fought game, two closely matched sides out there. Thought we got off to a really good start, played our football, got the goal and imposed ourselves on Burton, controlled the majority of the first half without threatening too much to get that 2nd goal. Once we conceded, we lost the momentum, allowed Burton to take control and never got that control of the game back.
Was disappointed with how we weren’t able to get a grip of the game after the equaliser, Power never really got going, Jacobs worked hard but overall it was a game that became a bit of a physical battle which we found hard to win. Thought Jussi could possibly have done better with the goal and McCann and Wabara were unable to have an effect on the game, expected McCann’s experience to enable him to exert a calming influence in a tight game, but unlike Warnock who was excellent, McCann conceded possession too easily, too often.
Very good point overall, we’ve played some lovely football this season, at this stage its just about getting over the line Finally, the ref….clamped down on a couple of Burton fouls early on, booked a player (harshly I thought) for diving but then seemed to fall for Burton players wanting free kicks whenever we went near them and gave a seemingly endless number of free-kicks, not allowing the game to flow
