Article on Wigan Today about Will Grigg and how he must avoid burnout. The mind bloody boggles. He trained but didn’t play for Northern Ireland in the Euros, came back to pre-season late, has been subbed in pre season and in the first third of the season and also played part games by being subbed. Now how the bloody hell can a young fit professional footballer be close to burnout in bloody November?
What on earth is going on at all? Bullshit bullshit bullshit.
Well if he is so unfit he shouldn’t be off on International duty.10 November 2016 at 12:03 am #15229410 November 2016 at 4:34 am #152297So Joyce reckons Grigg needs a rest yet allows him to go on International duty then rest him on his return to us
That sounds like good practice, we are trying to climb out of the bottom three and Joyce wants to rest a 20+ goal a season striker? What a load of shite!
Summat going on here.
Fuck the EFL

Playing for your Country is the highest accolade you can have. Joyce is probably aware that Grigg won’t play but is happy to let him train with better players.
2 week ago the Manager was shit, now it’s the players, backroom staff, Chairman, tea lady etc etc.

10 November 2016 at 11:59 am #152300I get the impression Joyce doesnt rate Grigg.
10 November 2016 at 12:41 pm #152301He hasn’t looked brilliant so far this season but that’s probably more down to the support and service he has had. He has also had no consistent wide player or attacking midfielder to work with and the management have seemed to use him as a scapegoat for their mistakes by dropping and subbing him instead of the obvious which is give him some support.
Hope that Yootha utilises Will well, he could be the key to getting us out of this mess but he will need consistent support. Reading were a good example of where we should aim to be. They attacked with pace and numbers. At times our midfielders are so deep and Will is up there amongst four defenders.10 November 2016 at 1:44 pm #152302I get the impression Joyce doesnt rate Grigg. From one game?

Fuck the EFL

Eggy, i wish you would read the posts properly, i’m not calling anyone shite, i am saying the decision to rest Grigg is shite and doesn’t make sense!
Fuck the EFL
10 November 2016 at 2:58 pm #152306There is no sensible reason on earth why Grigg was on the bench against Reading. Especially so for another clubs player.

You’re looking at this as a Wigan Athletic fan being appointed the Wigan Athletic manager, when in the real world Joyce had been with the club for 3 days, and therefore hadn’t seen much of Grigg.Grigg has scored 3 goals in the Championship in his career. Le Fondre has scored 42 plus 12 in the Premier League.
Based on that, you’d choose Le Fondre.
Also, Grigg’s been carrying a knock over recent weeks.
So armed with that information, what would you have done?

The second part was aimed at the board in general not you personally.
