Whu do they always score against us?
15 December 2016 at 12:40 am #153145Illness stops me going tonight…..and not complaining after that 1st half…..League 1 on its way……bereft of ideas…worst midfield we’ve had for years…..Can’t control or put 3 passes together ….Wildschut might as well be sat on sofa with me same applies to Grigg. OK Newcastleso quality showing but we’ve made it so easy for them.Come on lads we can’t do worse 2nd half…..but don’t look like we’ll ever score again……it’s painful to watch…….
15 December 2016 at 1:29 am #153146League table doesn’t lie.too many players not good enough for this level of football?
15 December 2016 at 1:45 am #153147Totally agree…..players league 1 standard at best.Poor recruitment going to cost us including the manager. Need to play players in best position and give it a serious go but I can’t see anything other than bottom 3.We were crap apart from a spell before their 2nd .Thought Kellet did ok before their 2nd albeit ring rusty but apart from that can’t the see 1 positive thing outo of that load of dollop
15 December 2016 at 1:49 am #153148It looks like we could be swapping places with the noblot again….
15 December 2016 at 2:27 am #153149Newcastle are top of the table for a reason, and Villa had millions of poundsworth on the bench. We were unlucky not to get a point at Villa, and I think 2-0 tonight was harsh.
The season will not be defined by these two games. Our season will be defined by the next two games. Win them and we’re on a roll. Lose them and we’re going down. Get any number of points in between and we have a fight on our hands.
Don’t give up teh cause just yet.
15 December 2016 at 2:45 am #153150The lads had a go tonight. Would rather see us lose having a go than sitting back defensively. Over all if we have a go like that every week we will get points on the board and start to climb the table. Newcastle were very lucky indeed tonight but funny to hear the great unwashed from the north east sing Wigan’s a shithole. Thick gets. Has anybody been to Tyneside? Shithole of a first degree. It’s like the 1950’s.
15 December 2016 at 3:00 am #153151We could play 0-0-10. Wont win games without shots on goal
15 December 2016 at 3:03 am #153152We expected nowt and we got nowt.
Just checked the stats, apparently we did manage 1 shot on target at least
Obviously Grigg starting doesnt work….erm, so back to 5-5-0 on Saturday
Crowd looked really thin tonight (apart from the North stand!), doubt it will be much different on Saturday.
15 December 2016 at 10:24 am #153155Best crowd of the season despite £27-00. Bad run. Relegation position.Terrible form. Terrible style. Just before Christmas. Expectation of a defeat. Evening kick off. Live ont box for free. Live in pubs.
Ten thousand home fans is just the norm (although there were many less than that in the ground) so no less than expected.15 December 2016 at 1:27 pm #153164Thought that Latics played well in patches last night without ever getting that final ball right very often.
Thought that defensively Latics played very well & kept their danger man very quiet indeed. Midfield did far better when Power was shifted out to the right & Jacobs brought into the middle.
Ultimately what cost Latics were 2 mistakes. The first from McDonald who a) gave possession away very sloppily in a dangerous position & then b) decided not to take one for the team & bring Diame down when it started to look dangerous
The second mistake being Kellett’s rush of blood in coming for an aerial challenge that he had no hope in the memory of man of getting & Newcastle took full advantage of Latics getting caught short at the back. The mistake from McDonald & subsequent goal knocked Latics who’d started well but never recovered for the rest of the 1st half.
In the 2nd they started well but the momentum had drifted & for me Joyce should have made a change at that point & not hung on hoping we’d get it back & by the time we’d conceded it was too late.So I wasn’t too despondent last night coz I didn’t expect a win & I feared a bit of a kicking so to play like we did in spells provided some encouragement
15 December 2016 at 2:24 pm #153172Ahhh…if we only had the budgets of Barnsley, Burton ,Preston,Blackburn!!! WHAT ARE THEY DOING THAT WE AREN’T?
