Not such a bad signing by Caldwell after all ;)
Just watched the highlights on Sky App thingy. That free kick didn’t half move in the air..thought it did in real time from where I was sitting.
14 April 2017 at 2:49 am #157948That free kick, where it was, wasn’t even a scoring opportunity.
If Gareth Bale had scored that, we’d see it over and over again.
Wow.
14 April 2017 at 2:56 am #157953Best comeback hat trick since Big Bobby Burst the Burnden net back in 87.
The difference Powell makes is immense. We’ve got to keep hold of him…get him fit….and make him skipper.
He is a class apart from his team mates…and most opposition.

Take a bow Nick Powell.

Charlie Insomnia kept us up virtually single handed in 2010-11, could history repeat itself?

will be brilliant if we could take it to the last game of the season.14 April 2017 at 3:10 am #157967Cometh the hour cometh the man.

Yes we want to fight to the end, but as Theresa would say Relegation means Relegation whether it’s by 1 point or 7.
Enjoying tonight…the Pinotage is going down very smoothly :woohoo:
14 April 2017 at 11:45 am #157988Made me eat my words.
The game changed as if a switched had been flicked the moment he came on.
He was the only player with some flair, and did I see pace from him as well?
Anyway, well done.
I was also reminded of Bobby Campbell’s hat trick at Bolton….think that was better, but it wasn’t a potential relegation saver.

Some fella was rambling on way out last.night about wanting Blackburn to do us a favour and beat forest today….I can’t see as that will do us a favour. Maybe a draw will be best result.
14 April 2017 at 3:28 pm #158005In the last 2 games we’ve shipped 2 goals to an utterly shite relegated side and 2 goals to a side who were clearly thinking of their Summer holidays. I can’t help thinking that Brighton will be quite as obliging should they score a couple what with a league title being at stake and all that but ya never know I guess! Since Barrow took over we have shipped 9 goals in just 4 games, that is a worrying stat with 3 of our remaining 4 games against promotion contenders!

At this stage of the season, as long as we score one more goal than the opposition, that will do for me.

As impressed with him as I was last night i’ll wait till end of season before changing my opinion of him. If he carries on playing like that then he will turn out to be a good signing. That is by far his best game for us that I can recall.
Was that the quickest hatrick ever scored by a latics player?
