On the scoresheet again for Caley. Is he worth a go next season?. I know the standard up there isn’t the best but could he yet be an asset for us?.
18 May 2017 at 12:07 am #159058Inverness are probably the same standard wise as any other League One side if not a bit better and so yes he would do well for us!
18 May 2017 at 1:07 am #159060Depends on:
Who is manager? Do they rate him?
And if they are going to play more than one up front.
18 May 2017 at 1:28 am #159062To put whether he’s good enough for Lge1, in 20 starts & 6 sub appearances for Oldham this season he scored the sum total of zero goals
18 May 2017 at 2:57 am #159064He is probably a cracking player but not rated by Caldwell, Yootha and Barrow so obviously he must be shite but strikers to those three are as important as garlic to a vampire.

3-4-1-2 in a lot of his games.

They’ve got players from Carlisle and Wimbledon playing for them, and one lad on loan from Crawley.
Other SPL teams have players they signed from Hartlepool, Whitley Bay, and Nuneaton etc.
Bar Celtic who are streets ahead of the others and Aberdeen and Rangers who are mid-to-lower end Championship standard at best, I’d put them at lower League One / League Two standard.
I remember Scott Vernon being sent on loan to Southend because he couldn’t get a game for Colchester, then the season after he was playing for Aberdeen and was third top scorer in the SPL.
18 May 2017 at 7:39 pm #159082The Scottish leagues are terrible

Have to agree, the Scottish leagues are terrible. The pyramids are and have been littered with failed English lower league players who have flourished up there. Even at Celtic and Rangers they have had umpteen players who have become ‘world beaters’ Just having a flick through the top scorer charts for the last 10 years
2007. Scott McDonald – Failed at Middlesborough and Millwall – Signed from Southampton reserves
2008 – Kris Boyd – Failed at Middlesborough
2009- Boyd again followed by Anthony Stokes – Failed at Multiple English league clubs
2010 – Kenny Miller – Failed at Multiple English league clubs
2011 – Gary Hooper – Signed from Scunthorpe – Failed at Norwich and currently struggling to get into a Sheff Wed side
2012 – Michael Higdon – Signed from Crewe, Failed at Sheff Utd, Oldham and Tranmere. Currently playing for Bangor City
2013 – Chris Commons – Decent enough at Championship level but a winger scoring 27 league goals???
2014 – Adam Rooney, Failed at Birmingham, Swindon and Oldham. Now back in Scotland with Aberdeen banging them in.
2015 – Leigh Griffiths – Actually decent scoring record for Wolves but only played 26 games
2016 – Currently Scott Sinclair, Would thrive at Championship level and maybe bottom half of Premier League but career littered with failed big money moves. -
