Wasn’t impressed at all with the Shrewsbury tactics. Looked like a non league side coming to spoil things.
We hit the woodwork twice and dominated the game. Shrewsbury did not have one shot on target in 93 mins which is piss poor. Wasn’t impressed by The Shrews one little bit. However their spoiler negative shite tactics will take points off other rivals and one point today from them keeps them 4 points behind us.
Well done to our lads today who faced some dreadful niggling tackles and fouls off the ball. Grigg and Morsy superb and a good general performance spoiled by the crossbar and Shrewsbury’s negativity.
      Keep it up super Tics.

Spot on them comments donny, glad we don’t play them every week. There was only one team trying to win that game and gutted we couldn’t score as they deserved nothing IMO.
Tony came so close, thought he should have at least hit the target.

As for the ref, thought he was crap. Lots of persistent petty fouling from Shrewsbury that went unpunished.

Hopefully Charlton will come and have a go and make a better game for the fans.

Hats off to Shrewsbury in my opinion. They played a team who had just scored 7 a few days earlier away from home. Gave 120% battled for every ball and got what they came for. I’ve never seen Morsey and Evans so quiet, just got bundled off the ball. Thought the ref could have brandished the cards far earlier than he did. It seems like the rules change after 70 mins, tackles that are let go for a hour suddenly become fouls. They had a game plan and it worked irrespective of whether we liked that game plan or not. They’ve taken 4 nurps off us and have fully deserved them IMO. Let’s move on still with a 4 point gap and take our first ‘double’ on Friday.

We need to get used to sides parking the bus at the DW – after all we are the Man City of League 1 ;-)

Its a race for 2nd spot now, so Shrewsbury will feel good about taking 4 points from their two matches with us – I doubt many will equal or better that haul.

They will be well happy with that as their fans showed and so they should be. Point away from home in a top of the table clash is a great result.

I thought they looked dangerous on the break but felt we were always in control and should probably have won it. Few missed chances or poor decisions like Jacobs going down in first half for no reason.p

The ref definitely forgot his cards first half. How their number 6 went 57 minutes without going in the book is a mystery.

Not sure about Morsy though. The lad never seems to lose the ball. Gets rid or wins the foul for me 99.9% of the time.

We cannot shake them off and Blackburn are strong so if we have a downturn in form promotion may not be cut and dried. We have to learn how to break defensive teams down and maybe a couple of additions in Jan will sort that out. We are still in a great position but every game is a must win at present because the Shrews and Rovers wont go away. If we can beat Charlton on Fri it will be a massive result with Rovers v Scunny and Shrews at Southend on Saturday then under a bit of pressure to keep up. C,Mon you tics.

Having netted 7 in our last game it was always going to be a potential anti climatic game today. They had a game plan that they stuck to rigidly and they appeared happy with the draw, fuck knows why what with Rovers leading 2-0 at halftime? They were hardly a threat all afternoon and despite a spirited 10 mins or so at the beginning of the second half we were never under any threat. We should however have won with the useless sub’s open goal opportunity in the last 10 mins! Can we fetch in a half decent striker as a contingency option in January please Mr Manager?

Their manager told them to have a go at us but that certainly didnt happen unless your talking about kicking us.

As I’ve stated before this league is poor apart from top 3 or 4.We have struggled to break down Shrewsbury twice Rovers and Bradford. We definitely need another striker come the window but still in a fabulous position at the year end….well do e to all concerned.!!!

You can see why they don’t lose many, but it must be horrible to watch week in week out. I would say they were one of the worst teams to watch that have come to us this season, yet they are second in the league, hopefully their bubble will burst soon.
On another day that could easily have been a 3 or 4 nil win.

One of their obvious strategies was to goad Nick Powell into retaliation, and collect a yellow or red card. With Powell absent for potentially three games they would be hoping to damage our points haul over that period. Call me cynical, but it was obvious and Cookie should have briefed his key players to be mindful of such sly tactics.

Is this classed as shirt pulling?

It’s nearly stretched enough to fit one of our lodgers in.
