Shrews maximum total is now 94.
We’re on 90 now with a huge goal difference advantage, so we need just 4 points from the next 4 games.
If we win against Fleetwood and Brizzle, then we could win the title at home against AFC.
And that would be nice. The League wouldn’t officially recognise it though as Blackburn might win their last game 95-0.
Party at Doncaster, and get the trophy there.
Season done :D20 April 2018 at 12:41 pm #168387Can see us dropping some points in next two games tbh but can also see Blackburn doing so as they have Charlton and Doncaster away. I thought Blackburn were fortunate last night but its in our hands. IMO the top two are already up but either could finish as champions!

20 April 2018 at 1:56 pm #168392Agree Runcorn unfortunately for the Shrews luck has well and truly deserted them and they are suffering big time with injuries and suspensions. Not the way I would prefer us to go up as they have been fantastic over the season and would have pushed us all the way. I want to see us take the title now and silence the billy big bolloxes. They have already started selling their promotion season fanzine. Cocky as f..k but now unfortunately it seems we are both going up automatically as predicted. Hope Shrewsbury win the playoffs. COYL

20 April 2018 at 7:40 pm #168395Isn’t it the case where you can’t receive a trophy on an opponents ground?

as i said ;)
remember the game well, I could have sold my season ticket outside to a manc for £150
with only one game left on it. The game had no bearing on us, but being a true supporter I decided to watch the game only for Steve Bennett to take centre stage. Remember all the mancs breaking in at the end in the west stand as well to celebrate!20 April 2018 at 8:30 pm #168399Isn’t it the case where you can’t receive a trophy on an opponents ground?

The Premier & Football League’s prefer it to be on the “home” ground but if it’s only decided on the last day of the season (as that United game was) then there’s not much they can do about it – if United had won the league that day but had a home game the week after then it would have been presented at that next gameOh & the United fans didn’t need to break in – Latics fans had started leaving the ground at the final whistle so the exit doors were open.
As I left some were trying to kick a turnstile door in so to save damage to our beloved home I pointed out that if they saved their energy there were some double doors open about 5 metres away21 April 2018 at 12:58 am #168400Next three games are the most important, if we win them then we are champions.
Fleetwood won’t be easy tomorrow what with them appointing the mad one. Let’s hope there’s no cigar for them..
21 April 2018 at 12:33 pm #168402It’s going to be a lovely day at the seaside :woohoo:
Promotion today? Probably not sadly as I can’t Shrews slipping up against Bury, so the party on hold till Tuesday night!
You never know though….
21 April 2018 at 1:45 pm #168403Do you know I can actually see Bury getting a draw, and if we win that will be enough.
It’s great that nothing hinges on it at all, but it is a possibility.A quote from a Shrews message board:
“Strange day today I guess knowing that it is a dead rubber, you normally get into this mood when it’s the last game of the season and everything is done and dusted. It’s still four games out from the seasons end and then we go again with the play offs. So not really sure what to think about today…the calm before the storm perhaps. Time to take a deep breath before it all goes daft again come May. Hope we see one or two rested. Hope we don’t see any injuries or cards…”21 April 2018 at 10:54 pm #168427Do you know I can actually see Bury getting a draw, and if we win that will be enough.Good call George.
