Connolly, Robinson and Garner were all wanted by Noblot.

Apparently Robinson and Connoly were advised to come to Wigan by Joe Royle and Wanky were outbid for Garner who was odds on to sign for them all week.

When you add Windass to the fold and big Dan back on loan along with off loading Power and Colclough, keeping Powell and loaning out Flores, its not been a bad deadline day for us.

Don’t get this signing he’s 30 and not really impressed.. He’ll be a bit part player I think. If Cole can’t get a game then can’t see much hope for Garner.

Theres nowt wrong with having experienced strength in depth. I hope Cole stays aswell, but the loan market is open until the end of the month so things could still happen.

If youve ever watched him then you’ll know he will give us another striking option…..i wouldn’t want to mark him.He certainly puts a shift in ..so for me its been a superb window….Powell still here….Burn cash and keep him till Jan,Windass too…..Roll on Sat.

Best window for a long time. Powell still here is a real bonus though I don’t see the point of signing Garner. If however Cole is still going to be shipped out on loan somewhere then yes it makes sense although how does he get in before Grigg and Vaughan. We now have a pretty strong squad and should hopefully have enough to survive in this division.COYL.

Not getting over excited but I rekon we will do far better than just survive. Look at Blackburn, had 2 5 mill bids for players rejected and made just 3 signings. So we’ve done remarkably albeit a lot of competition now in the middle and up top.On a footnote…..where the hell have Blackburn got that kinda money from……Venkys must of had a run on drumsticks !!

Not sure he’s needed, Windass can play upfront if needed and reading his latest injuries and combined with his age I’m not sure forking out over a million (rumoured) it’s good business. I would have preferred to get Cole in..
                    Here’s from March 2018:-

Ipswich Town striker Joe Garner will miss the rest of the Championship season because of a minor skull fracture behind the ear.
It follows a clash of heads in the draw with Sheffield United on Saturday.

The 29-year-old has also been carrying a knee injury and will have surgery on a shoulder problem on Monday.

This shoulder injury originally occured in December 2016 in an old firm game and resurfaced 15 months later so it’s not something new.

They were bids Dereck. Probably done to appease the fans. Probably just hot air.
We have done brilliantly and brought players in and really if you add the total we have spent to the amount we have brought in we are probably about even plus we have money from sell on clauses.
The headache is now Paul Cooks and who to play and when. Paul usually likes a settled and consistent starting eleven. He has a lot of players to keep happy and maybe we may see a little more rotation this time.
Simply, well done Latics, some clever dealing and negotiations have gone on.

He sounds like Vaughan then Mr B.. He puts a shift in and did today, pressed there back line and forced them into some rash clearances.
Grigg had hardly any impact on the game today but not sure I’d want two Vaughan on the pitch, you need a finisher at the side of a Vaughan not two of a kind.
