Looks like he could be the left back
Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has his eye on Newcastle United left-back Jose Enrique.
The People says Martinez has switched his sights on Newcastle’s Enrique who joined from Villarreal for £6.3m in August 2007.
St James’ Park boss Chris Hughton does not want to sell any of his stars as they begin the push for promotion straight back to the Premier League.

If we can ship out Fig , and bring in Enrique for routhly the same money ?? , then I would say that is a good bit of business.
That’s definitely my favourite transfer rumour of the week so far. :D
5 January 2010 at 3:11 pm #17171It would indeed be a great swap, but I can’t see it happening.
Newcastle won’t risk missing out on what seems near certain promotion for the sake of a few quid, not after the millions they have blown.
And there’s no chance the player would fancy a swap from a near certain premier league contract next year with Newcastle to a highly possible championship contract with Wigan.

Sensible until the last part, We will not go down, if it’s highly possible you wouldn’t mind putting money on that, I will put money on us staying up because we WONT go down. Simple. Keep the Faith
