Been around the stadium area today for my daily walk with the dog. No sign of activity anywhere outside the ground both yesterday and today. Main car park has 3ins. of snow over frozen ice. I reckon no chance for saturday.
6 January 2010 at 7:20 pm #17342I had a walk down before and it was deserted, very unlikely i think the game will go ahead

Just read this off the website, well if they are doing everything in their power, they are doing a good job of not making it known.6 January 2010 at 7:31 pm #17345So you’ve just read on the website that they’re doing everything in their power to get the game on, but yet they’re not making it known? Its on the offical website, what do you expect 10 seconds adverts on ITV?
That said if the forecast is right the game should be on, very cold and freezing at night but no snow.
6 January 2010 at 7:35 pm #17346cant fckin believe what i’ve just read on that link.
there has been NO WORK whatsoever around the ground for two days. I have walked on the main car park today and it is a sheet of pure white snow. total lies.
even the approach roads to the car parks which they cleared first last time are covered in freezing snow.!!!!!!6 January 2010 at 7:36 pm #17347You interpreted my post wrong, i meant when i was at the stadium at around 2 o’clock this afternoon, it looked as if nothing was being done.
6 January 2010 at 10:09 pm #17356Going off last time. If there is snow and it’s safe to walk on then it will be off. If it has froze and is solid ice it will be on.
6 January 2010 at 10:58 pm #17361Clearing snow at this point, days away from the game, may mean the residue left will form ice. Snow (even a bit frozen) is easier to clear than a few centimetres of solid ice.
To be honest doing nothing for a day or so, particularly on car parks that aren’t being used at the moment, seems to me (but what do I know) to be 100% correct.
6 January 2010 at 11:11 pm #17362its off?
that’s my prediction anyway! the Blackburn game shouldn’t av been played
the roads were shocking!7 January 2010 at 1:57 am #17393I could do with it being called off, at the moment I can’t get to any Saturday games even though I’ll be less than a mile from the ground at Boston House on Frog Lane…the more postponements the better, *if we could move our 13 remaining Saturday games to Sundays or midweek that would be great ta!
*hopes someone from WAFC reads this*

the roads were shocking! All this H&S rubbish is doing my head in.
a game should only be postponed if the pitch is unplayable, or terraces/steps etc are dangerous.Where is all this surrounding area nonsense going to stop?
Admittedley the roads around The ‘Brick’ were a bit slippy prior to the Blackburn game, but its hardly a reason to postpone a match.I live about the same distance from Tesco as the ‘Brick’ is from the DW but they didn’t shut Tesco because our road was slippy.
7 January 2010 at 11:55 am #17408I doubt the game will be on.
But there is little point in clearing it until Friday really as it will just freeze over.
