Guaranteed…………..theres no likelyhood of thaw,so the health & Safety brigade at Wigan council will insist they dont want any punters treading on icy footpaths.

    The world has gone soft!!

It can’t be as bad as the Blackburn game was and there’s a supposed fresh snowfall to come.

I hate to say but it does –

For the Blackburn game the streets were like an ice-rink but a layer of freshly fallen snow would cover any ice and be easier to walk on

It makes perfect sense. The ice can’t be as bad as the Blackburn game – and there’s a fresh snowfall to come meaning it won’t be as icey anyway. (probably could have worded it better i guess)

17 was a cake-walk Griff. The Somme in 16 was was the real deal. Lost my best bat-man that year.

Wonder how many of the regular posters were there at the time, there, and Canvey Island.

I had my wonder-woman taken off me by Lieutenant Bromhead at Rourke’s Drift; said it offended the ‘fuzzie wuzzies’…….whatever that was.

                Now they were the days

Not nearly as bad as Christmas Day 1915. Can’t believe that match went ahead.
