Never give time of day to rumours.
Occasionally they are correct.
Usually they aren’t.Normally gl I take them with a pinch of salt but I am convinced our next manager will have huge Everton links. And the guy who told me is convinced its Unsworth. I feel it’s a bit premature as Cookie still holds office. I suppose we will find out soon enough.
Cooky has struggled this year but it’s been a years experience at this level for him and particularly at this level working within the constraints of a tight budget so why would we replace him with a novice.
With respect to Everton they are a big club in comparison to Latics but they play just to exist, never win things and just trundle along, survive and collect their wad from Sky after surviving another season.Cook has a four year deal…no way will we sack him…..may try to push him out but it will be difficult especially if we stay up.plus cook far more experience than unsworth as a manager.ie now David’s Moyes would be a better option. Lol..
Moyes WAS the rumour I heard just last week, and he would have been announced had the Bolton game gone wrong….supposedly
Now that was from someone directly working for the club (NOT in any football capacity) and I don’t necessarily believe it but it was one of several quite colourful things I was told, one in particular concerning our “co tenants” which I’ll keep to myself for now.
I imagine Moyes would think himself way above managing Latics and probably championship as well. Don’t think he would take a job outside the Prem unless maybe the sweaties job came available.
