I haven’t posted any of my colourisations on here recently, but have posted this today on a couple of FB groups, and thought I’d give you the pleasure (?) also of seeing this what I have done. ;)

15 May 2019 at 12:35 am #178806That is absolutely brilliant work. Was it from a black and white photograph?
Pop side looking great. It was a dump old Springfield but somehow I much preferred it to the New Springfield. Egg free too.15 May 2019 at 12:36 am #178807Yes, it’s from black and white.
15 May 2019 at 12:38 am #178808Well that’s fantastic. Is that Bobby Campbell? Who is he grappling with?
15 May 2019 at 12:42 am #178809Dave Cusack of Doncaster who was also known as a hard man
15 May 2019 at 12:51 am #178810That’s Chris Thompson.
As I recall we used to sing “Cusack Cusack’s got no sack…. Cusack’s…got no sack” to wind him up
15 May 2019 at 2:51 am #178811Egg free too.Except when it was home to two rugby teams
15 May 2019 at 11:02 am #178814Springfield Borough, what a mess that made of the pitch too.
Again like selling the steel work from the Shevvy End done to try and get some extra income. Again another tip for Bolton, get a lodger in to contribute to help pay the bills.15 May 2019 at 12:50 pm #178816Dave Cusack of Doncaster who was also known as a hard manI always thought it was Bobby. I do remember that game & that scuffle he had.
15 May 2019 at 1:33 pm #178817Bobby Campbell was in a scuffle every week, after he’d had his pre match whiskey!

It does look pretty dreadful here though but given the video above I’m not sure how much blame can be laid at Boroughs feet

The thing with rugby ruining the pitch, is that it always seems to be ruined in places such as the 6 yard box, penalty spot and centre circle which are where the majority of football games take place in terms of number of people standing in one spot but not rugby games. You don’t see the whole goal line being ruined for example when 13 blokes run up and down it or the wings that have 4 people running up and down it for 90 minutes non stop.
Anyway, seeing as Wigan rugby played there some 30 years before Latics were even founded does that make Springy their original ground similar to Everton and Anfield?
15 May 2019 at 10:48 pm #178824Ha ha, on the video theres more grass on the Shevvy End than on the pitch!
Good goals tho
15 May 2019 at 10:57 pm #178825Great stuff gl, love seeing the old kits in glorious technicolour keep it going marrer.
