Sure sign we have won today is the lack of ignorant, know-nothing posts on here.
I bet the ignorant ones are disapointed we won today. Disapointed we are 13th in the biggest league in Europe. Disapointed we are fighting way above our weight. Disapointed that two of Bobbies signing’s had superb games today. Disapointed that the team is geling and playing good football.
Brilliant today Wigan….well done.
17 January 2010 at 2:51 am #18533I’ll have a moan.
On Match of The Day, do Shearer and Hansen nip out for a fag when Wigan are on?
I’ve taken the p!ss before about our supporters’ paranoia regarding the media, but hang on a minute, even a ‘Yes, a good win for Wigan’ from Shearer would have done.
Instead, we get a focus on the ref’s position for the first goal, and then that bloke from the Walkers Crisps adverts (he’s not even a footballer for Christ’s sake) announcing that one of our players has won the goal of the month.
Dear BBC, this is simply not good enough.
17 January 2010 at 8:46 am #18536Morning – apologies for not getting on here sooner Superfan.
17 January 2010 at 11:56 am #18538Not good enough. Should’ve been 4 etc etc……………………
Only kidding. What a wonderful morale boost.
17 January 2010 at 12:14 pm #18539Morning – apologies for not getting on here sooner Superfan.Ah the old Superfan quote comes out. Pathetic … just crawl back under your stone you pathetic, whinging no-hoper.

Don’t get that quote tbh.
Thought Mick McCarthy’s comment about the ref was quite funny.

I’ve taken the yellow water before about our supporters’ paranoia regarding the media, but hang on a minute, even a ‘Yes, a good win for Wigan’ from Shearer would have done.

I agree we get no positive comment from MOTD , but to say gary lineker wasnt a footballer,,,, did you never watch England late 80`s/90`s, get yourself on you tube pal, i cant stand the bloke either but he knew were the net was, cant argue with that.

I was trying to be humorous for fook’s sake!!! Lineker now presents golf and cricket programmes, is on Walkers adverts, and was on Mr & Mrs last night! His only association with football these days is on Match of The Day once a week.
Yes, I watched England in the 80s and 90s. I was probably the same age then as half of the posters on here are now.
And yes, Lineker was a great player.

Give it up marrer, it clearly ain’t working :(

“The Old Superfan quote”??? I first mentioned the expression less than 3 weeks ago, to Griff. So its not old. However, you must clearly be one of those JCLs that you despise so much, as you no doubt thought the expression had been banded about for years.
I would have to say 2/10 – must try harder.
Hope you get a better result with your maths homework prior to your GCSE mocks.
Ta-ra.
17 January 2010 at 11:23 pm #18661Nothing to moan about after a classic away victory and performance.
That N’Zogbia goal was a class finish.
Could possibly moan about Thomas’ sending off. Was the second yellow that bad?
And I think someone else should have a go at penalties. N’Zogbia?
Good away win, which we can hopefully build on. How strange that we sign a new player, make changes……and keep a clean sheet?
18 January 2010 at 3:42 pm #18691HindleyGreenLatic – as someone who has been a regular moaner on here this season I would just like to point out that one swallow does not make a summer
We have had great performances before this season – Villa, Chelsea, City, Burnley etc.. The problem has been that the next performance or few performances have invariably been $h!teIn fact your “where are all the whingers? … team is gelling & playing good football.. brilliant” based on one good league performance out of the last couple of months was as predictable as the “get Bobby out” threads that will start up if/when we get beat by Notts County/Forest Green, Blackburn or whoever we play next
VAT69 – are you being serious in saying Thomas’s 2nd yellow was harsh???? It was late, he caught him & kicked him a good few feet into the air. No 2 ways about it it was a 2nd yellow. There are also some refs who would have shown him a straight red for the 2 footed lunge that got him his first yellow. At least I think it was him who made that tackle my memory of the highlights I saw on Sky is a little blurred by alcohol
