No, not because Liverpool have won the league, but because as well as fake fan noise and games at empty stadiums we now have zoom calls of fans sat on their couch at home watching it. It’s something I’d expect the rugby league to do.
26 June 2020 at 10:07 am #187239It is going to be a totally different feeling at the stadium when we eventually do get back in. Fans will hopefully realise how much it means to actually be at the game.
For a lot who ‘support’ the bigger teams it is no different for them, apart from some not being in the pub.
I’d say football is in a coma rather than dead.
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that

Fuck the EFL

I’d say football is in a coma rather than dead.I was excited for football coming back on the TV, but the quality is dreadful (like watching pre-season) the fake crowd noise is terrible but is slightly better than the stadium noise, and the zoom calls are just an embarrassment.

Not a kopite are you Bullitt?
26 June 2020 at 5:14 pm #187252I totally agree with your comment Egg lad about the games feeling like pre-season friendlies. Although saying that, the Chelsea vs Man City game was pretty decent last night.

I switched it off when I saw the zoom calls of fans
27 June 2020 at 7:15 am #187256I’ve only watched 1 game so my sample is clearly representative.
I don’t like the fake canned crowd sound, reminds me of watching bad american comedy shows in the ’70s.
I liked the football mainly because the players got on and played the game and forgot about a lot of the theatrics.
I really really liked it that there seemed to be minimal spitting.
Seemed to be a lot less arguing with the ref. That’s gotta be good.
I didn’t like not being there. My goal celebration just didn’t have the same joyous umph!
27 June 2020 at 7:50 am #187257I watched a bit of Norwich v Everton without the crowd noise via I player. It was very eerie. The crowd noise, although fake and out of sync with play, does bring a little bit of normality to what is otherwise a surreal experience.
