20 January 2010 at 8:06 pm #18922Not sure about the players on the bus but take a look at the 4 civvies immediately above the Latics scarf being held aloft.
On the left of the 4 is a fella who looks Jim McDonald off Corrie. Next to him is a bird sporting a dark bob. To the left of the 4 is a young lad and blow me down if the other fella (clapping) isn’t Alan Partridge.
A-ha! ;)

I think it was something to do with playing Scarborough at Wembley that year; the first time Latics had got there.
Probably a welcome home parade, even though we lost in extra time.

20 January 2010 at 11:22 pm #18972It’s the return from Wembley. John Rogers last minute equaliser followed by an extra time winner (from Malcolm Leask ??)Les Rigby and Ian Gillibrand on bus. Is the lad with long hair Lee Koo – the Chinese bloke from Liverpool ?
Amazing how many blokes had ties on.
21 January 2010 at 3:08 am #18998skriked all,t road home from that game, lasting memory of it was the size of their soddin keeper bloody ell he was enormous (fat as f…)
21 January 2010 at 3:28 am #18999Right hand side of the end of the scarf. There’s a young lad, and then is that a young Fred West eyeing up future ‘party guests’? (Apologies if you know who this man really is)
21 January 2010 at 6:18 am #19009another have i dreamt it
before the game at wembley the players walked round the pitch in their suits, when the scarboro players got to the latics end they gently threw scarboro toffee rock to the latics fans, then the look on their faces as the rock got clod back at them, they were ducking and diving to get out of the out of the way. funny as owt.
also cos it was unknown territory(wembley & extra time)some latics fans left after 90 mins in case they missed their wembley special trains. my sister brother in law & mother were 3 of them.
by the way my now x brother in law travels up from Ipswich with his daughter(s) for every home game. now theres a fan.
