Have returned to the south stand this season and it feels very retro to be back there after many years.
The football does also , this current team reminds me of the early Jewell years and that was another entertaining afternoon. They never looked in danger despite the various flurries by Peterborough and the stout defending and digging in was as entertaining as that first half display.
could easily have been 3 or 4 today
It’s early days but my prediction of a top half play off push looks a good shout after that today.
- Good 3 pts……Just a worry against better opposition the conceding of so much possession may be dangerous. Saydee,Costelloe, Murray all look great buys . I personally would like to see Matt Smith slotted in ….30 yds further up field than Maloney played him. Think that would be a godsend for Costelloe. Hearing we have to unload a few before window shuts,fear J Smith could be a casualty. On to Rotherham……still nowhere near finished article but im enjoying it so much more than last season.
I’ve a feeling that if M.Smith was fit before the window shuts he’d be gone. He’s 12 months left and I’ve a feeling Lowes not best pleased with his fitness.
Let’s not forget there’s Adeeko as well who’s gonna find it tough getting back in.
My one concern is Mullin. I said when he arrived I didn’t think it he was right for us
His injuries coupled with the vast majority of his goals coming in L2 and Non League was a big concern for me. The few times I’ve seen of him so far he looks and moves very laboured. I think he might struggle at Wigan that’s unless we’ve injuries.
i think one of the reasons why we seem to flag with 20 to go is, we put so much into that first hour or so we seem to flag.
It’s abit like an 800m runner were someone goes off, steals 100m and tries to hang on at the end so this is were a like for like bench is needed, what comes on is as good as what’s gone off and for me Mullin replacing Saydee or Costelloe doesn’t work.
But overall it’s a huge huge improvement and not that, I now feel like I’m going to a football match. Last season seriously put doubts in my mind on whether to renew this season but I carried on and glad I did.
1 last thing, Luke Robinson should be in. His energy coupled with his gee up to others when he came on was just what we needed. He seemed to spur the players on for the last 20 minutes which is just what the doctor ordered

Fuck the EFL
All the talk in L1 is how much Huddersfield spent or Cardiff dropping in but Luton still carry a fair few big earners in the squad and the clubs clinging on to them with the help of parachute payments.
Luton HAVE to go up at the first pop or it will be a full on mass exodus to lower the wage bill so us getting a point at Luton would be a huge result.
I did ummm and ahhhh at the thought of going Luton but rule 1:-
Never discuss future away days after a win and a few beers.
Football away days ain’t cheap no more and especially ones that far and then of a night so good luck to all those who travel down
