I believe there were very unsavoury scenes at the slutch rats game at Catalan last weekend. Told fighting amongst themselves, some got pepper sprayed. Is this true ?…..Funny it’s not hit the press…….Press would have stained their y fronts had that been us .
Yep .. true .. but as you comment , not reported .. google ‘ catalans v wigan crowd trouble ‘ ..it’s on FB , which I can’t/won’t do .. also , very funnily , someone said it ‘ can’t be wiggin fans , they only have old women/young girls and the men are ” gravy stained ” ‘ ..
Hiya mate .. just re visited the ‘ still ‘ of the fighting .. concerned about the colours of the persons shirt , who’s being attacked ..blue and white stripes ..
I remember a game in the Europa league in Maribor when we took around 2- 3000 and behaved impeccably throughout the trip.
Don’t remember too many news stories highlighting that fact.I remember a few year ago going a Latics away game on a private hire coach and the coach driver said he’d never take the rugby lot ever again.
Apparently they hired him for a rugby away (might have been Hull) and they basically trashed it. Ale food cans wrappers all over the gaff, ripped a few seats, p!ssed all over the toilet floor plus abusive when he asked them calm down and use the black bin bags on the seat armrest.
It’s amazing how two lots of supporters from the same town can be so different, but saying that, you have to have an empty head to watch that pile of sh*te.
I have zero interest in a minority sport thats on the brink of collapse. They say Latics would go to the wall without Danson well I can tell you this, the rugby have won everything and still run at a loss,
That speaks volumes about the sport
Ive been to a couple of the rugby games on free tickets. My lad plays rugby so we go so he can learn from it. He played football, but parents are absolute tossers, so he ended up going to Rugby. I dont mind. But U16s rugby is rough as hell at times. Especially when we face a St Helens team. Theyre mouthy and it usually kicks off somehow. We had a 26 lad punch up a few weeks back that resulted in 3 Reds, a sin bin, and a massive inquest.
But back to Warriors. We sat in the North Stand (our away end) at the Castleford game. They’d brought about 85-120 fans. No segregation. Late on in the game, the banter went too far and some of them and some Wiganers started scrapping at the top of the stand. People say there’s no trouble at Rugby…yes there is.
My dad used to work with a guy who drove coaches and mini buses of a weekend. He took Wigan rugby fans allover and was forever waiting for them to get out the nick after trouble had kicked off.
Oh and just to say, the away end concourse is a mess. It’s been smashed to bits by away fans. Probably that lot from over the hill.
