Just seen that Plymouth have snapped up Joe Ralls, ex Cardiff captain, who was without a club.
An experienced midfielder and leader in the middle of the park, I put his name about weeks ago. I bet Latics never even thought about it.
Our recruitment is crap. We had our arses served last week by a non league side, 3 or 4 players catching the eye. Will we have made any inroads? No. Only seem to be interested in young scousers released from Everton or Liverpool.
Absolute clown society.
Have to agree our transfer policy is awful I’m just hoping the newish a scouting outfit put it right
As for Joe Ralls ? There’s a player who’s played virtually all his career at Cardiff.
I always feel with players like that that when they leave a club after so long they leave their heart & souls behind and it’s basically a career move based on money not ambition.
Granted he has the experience but does he still have that passion at a new club after 15 years there?.
Me personally I’d prefer young hungry ambitious players over the like of Ralls plus he will no doubt have a bag of niggling injuries.
We have to look to sell on we have to. We need scouts to find those lads who’ve been released and lost their way.
If you said Brenan over Ralls I’d side with Brenan based on hunger passion ambition and possible sell on.
You can gain experience but I cant see a move to a bottom of the table side or even us, 3pts off the drop would be a move based on ambition
Top ten budget? Bottom half recruitment. Zero killer instinct. Saturday was 3pts on a plate and yet again an away draw. Starting Saydee on his own meant midfield had to be the goal threat as it turned out they were,Wright in particular. Aren’t Saydee,Costelloe supposed to be our go to players for goals ? Can’t blame Mullen cos those 2 have had 1000% more mins and yet he’s scored same as those 2 together!!!….Get balls in the box where Mullen poaches and he’ll outscore both but we expect him to run onto balls 50 yds out….not his game………I for one very disappointed with Saydee since Doncaster…….multiple defenders since managed him with ease,looks slower than me piggy backing my missus…..and if we break quick Tickle would get there before him.As for Asamoah, has pace but seen no other part of his game to suggest there’s a striker in there. Unless Costelloe turns the hitting the net corner, Mullen gets minutes in a role he’s familiar with then 1 goal a game is probably our limit.
Square pegs for round holes. Asamoah needs to be played wide as part of an attacking 3 with Murray. Now I know there both right side but plenty wide play wrong side cut in but his blistering pace alone is enough to scare defences.

Whichever way you wanna put it. Agree Mullin on his own and scrap the two up front. There’s nothing wrong with 2 up front but for it to work they have to be compatible.
Costelloe Mullin Saydee ? any 2 from 3 fails big time and the faster lowe recognises this the better.
Lowes struggling to make average players look good but for me Saydee as a steiker is a yard off everything.
Granted he put some decent loller balls through but truth be known that should be the job of a midfielder and he finishes them off.
I think we’re light years behind everyone else and L1 will be our home for the foreseeable future
