Well I took the plunge and drove down to Burton and I’ve gotta say, it wasn’t the best game but we came up good.
I thought everyone gave it 100%, Wright had a decent game getting involved in a lot of the play but credit goes out to the 2 forwards and the pin point cross from Hungbo, you won’t see a better cross all season.
I just hope Bettoni isn’t over used. Granted he was needed Monday but at such a young age we have to be careful.
I was made up for Costelloe, you could tell with his emotional outburst after scoring his goal it meant so much to him, this lad is a born again Wiganer.
I can’t remember a player who’s ever played for us with an engine this lad has. He was literally sprinting across their back line 89 minutes on the clock, incredible energy.
3 points is 3 points when your on the slide so at this stage and after 2 losses I’ll take it thanks.
It’s looking like Cooper and Mullin have gone. Their combined wage (which wouldn’t have been peanuts) should free up funds so hopefully Danson makes funds available and the other….
We keep Tickle till the summer
30 December 2025 at 11:34 am #206568- Thought same coming home….Costelloe ran full width of pitch at the death..at full pelt…..closing down….has a monster of an engine. My m.o.m……so pleased he scored. Still huge work in progress and on another day Burton could have hit 3. Wasn’t great at times but a seriously important 3 pts. Need to whack the sheep botherers now and hopefully some much needed help will arrive early in the window…..Cardiff ,Preston, Knuckle draggers on the horizon.
30 December 2025 at 12:17 pm #206569The thing with Costelloe, he’s not a goal scorer he’s the workhorse off the front line,
Then
Bettoni, he cannot be thrown in the deep end too soon it’s far too early and is he a forward ? again I don’t think so,
Saydee?, he needs to do what he did at Bradford for our goal, receive the ball nearer the goal say edge of the box and set others up possibly Costelloe? , I don’t know tbh or whoever we bring in in Jan.
The question is, who’s coming in in Jan now Mullin and Cooper are destined to leave. For me we need pace. Asamoah can catch pigeons, there’s no many over 20-30 yard can catch him so he needs to be utilised more now he’s back.
If I’ve one gripe is Hungbo playing too deep, he’s not a defender/wing back he’s a wide mid/winger and the one time he proper got forward he produced an on the button cross.
I’ve been on Lowe’s side, it’s been hard to keep saying that but I’ve always thought, well if we get rid who’s next ?, will they be any better given the state of the current squad?.
It’s a case of “Damned if I do, damned if I don’t” but for us to progress Lowe needs backing.
Let’s see what Danson does in Jan and let’s pray Tickle stays till at least the summer. Losing him right now would knock us for six.
1 midfielder in and a forward in in Jan then let’s see were it gets us. I personally think it’s a lower to mid table finish for us but this league is all about
No one’s in form bar Cardiff
9th spot is 3 points off the drop, unreal
30 December 2025 at 3:37 pm #206571Costelloe MoM ?!?! He did nothing whole game except score the goal. Now if he does that every week then no problem, but he doesn’t. He offers nothing except he can run. I can run 🤷‍♂️
Bettoni’s contract runs out in 6 months. That needs addressing very very quickly
30 December 2025 at 4:25 pm #206572Bettoni looks a real find , skilled and loads of attacking play in his locker.
His contract has to be sorted , bound to be some  clubs like Dull City  sniffing about.30 December 2025 at 9:32 pm #206574Without Costelloe continually pulling defenders all over the shop Bettoni wouldn’t have had the freedom he got. Seems to be overlooked by some………just imagine what Saydee would have looked like after 90 mins of Costelloe’s work rate???…..Probably gassed out after 30 mins. ….
30 December 2025 at 10:30 pm #206575Costelloe pulls no one anywhere. He offers nothing.
Bettoni had to run with the ball himself to get any space
Don’t rate Saydee either, although he does have an odd assist in him
31 December 2025 at 8:31 am #206576- Totally disagree…….let’s not place too heavy a burden on Bettoni’s shoulders……….think one or two getting a little carried away….play balls in the space in front of Costelloe and he’s a different player. Unfortunately the only midfielder we have capable is now suspended…….and when not plays as an extra defender. Our midfield is w###…..so Costelloe suffers.
