Now that it’s more than likely we’ll remain in L1 the inus will be in

Who stays who goes, my thoughts are:-

First job, secure the signature of Callum Wright. He’s out of contract in the summer so we’ll be able to afford abit more in wages with no signing on fee. I gave him player of the season.

Taylor is sadly beyond us, way way beyond us. His £3million price tag along with a reported £10k a week wages is a bridge too far. It’s sad I know but with an owner who is looking to sell i don’t think he’s stupid enough to put money in right now.

Now if someone takes over?, things might change.

Rumour has it Bettoni is off so it might be the reason he’s not seen much action of late. Lowe threw the lad in at Wimbledon and we had our own Taylor but sadly it hasn’t planned out that way.

      Raphael,

I like this guy some find him a marmite player but the ball he put through for Wrights goal was off the scale. He’s def got tonnes of improvement and now Coventry have go into the Greed League he might be surplus to requirements.

      Chapman,

Currently going under the knife he’s another we have to pin down asap. He stepped in like a 5 year vet and never looks out of place.

      Vickers,

At first I raised doubts on his experience but he’s proved me wrong. For me he’ll be here next year 100% as only a deadline day error stopped us from signing him in Jan.

      Melish,

Has to come back, he’s been playing a left back role for MK Dons and chipped in with the odd goal. Can play a number of positions which can be vital with small squads

      Brenan,

Now I like this lad, to me there’s a fire in his belly. He lacks experience so hopefully being part of a relegation side for half a season has strengthened his resolve.

Jury’s out on all our central defenders. I’m sure Caldwell knows who’s is who isn’t up for the job and not that, who wants out.

      Tickle,

He was our next big meal ticket of late I’m not so sure. Yes he’s a good keeper but over the past couple of months I’m beginning to think he’s already planning his next job and his minds not been quite there.

      Saydee,

Sad to say I don’t think he’s got it. Caldwell regularly praises him but I’m thinking it’s to instill some confidence into him. Personally I would let him go.

      Costelloe,

He lacks goals, if like Taylor if he could bag a few then he’d be a superb but of business but he hasn’t scored enough.

Saying that, when your 1-0 up in a tight game and your sitting back he’s the perfect sub because what he lacks in finishing he makes up for in chasing down. Putting pressure on defenders is what he’s all about and he does that brilliantly

      Matt Smith

I think he’ll be off, I just think he’s had enough. Caldwell is the first manager who’s looked at him and stuck him up the field. Previous managers made him play as a holding mid which is incredible considering the vision he has.

And finally (tin hat goes on)

      Weir

I think he’s an unsung hero. This guy runs his sack off. People love to slate him he’s crap, slow, mis placed passes but what people tend to forget there’s 2 sides to a game

      In possession

      Out of possession

Weir is the best at the club out of possession. Next time you watch us watch his pressing and hounding it’s invaluable to any side.

Now there’s a lot more players I could have nentioned the likes of Luke Robinson (I think will go) Murray who not far off breaking the clubs assists in a season record.

McManaman will definitely be gone Then there’s Francois and Hungo who are also very important to the squad but I mentioned those who I thought might/ might not be here next season.

I just hope the rumours whistling around about who could potentially be the new owner are true because right now with the right owner and investment and say but Taylor we could be challenging Horwich next season for promotion

Maybe; with the Latics securing a League 1 position today, the agreements around new ownership can commence in earnest. THe sooner the better, then Gary can crack on with building his team for na promotion push.

Yep have to agree, I bet a fair few players and agents were also sat back waiting for the outcome.

But the longer we go on without investment the worse the situation will get and I don’t mean ticking over investemnt
