      Who is sponsoring the stadium?

In fact, is anybody working to bring a sponsor onboard?

Because ‘The Brick’ was a charity gift sponsor. For one season only. So wheres the new sponsor and an announcement?

On one-hand it’s an attitude of ‘cutting cloth accordingly’, whilst on the other we don’t push things like stadium sponsorship. We never bloody have. JJB and then DW were self-sponsorship. Absolutely unbelievable that we missed out on revenue. Then when we get the chance to get a paid stadium sponsor, we gifted it away!🤦‍♂️

Bolton click their fingers, abd an American investor comes in and immediately gives them 5 million.  Why do we seem so, so slow as a club? It’s like we are playing at it.

The sponsorship we have is NOT good enough. It’s reliant on the same 2 or 3 sponsors, Smurfit West rock and Westwood. We are not attracting enough sponsorship or revenue streams. Have we got a person or team working on this? It’s my background, sales, marketing, customer service.

Give me a bloody job at the club and I will do my damnedist to improve things and get people onboard. It feels like there is so much untapped opportunity. I want my club absolutely cooking on gas, just give me the opportunity.

Or are we just going to call the stadium ‘The Brick’ forever? We not a penny earned from it? We need to bring in every penny we can get.

Thats why SG has gone and the new CEO appointed.

Met him at the memories session yesterday and he came across very well.

His enthusiasm is infectious and was quite witty. He will definitely improve on sponsorship and investigate other revenue streams.

As usual GC spoke very well, you can tell he knows exactly what he wants and will find a way to get it. He indicated that there had been 2 new signings yesterday with another very imminent.

He was confident that there would be 4 or 5 new recruits before the window closes.

I feel the most positive I’ve been for many years just before the new season starts.

The whole mood of the club has been lifted. UTFT!! 💙🤍

        What a journey!

I have a beef about the car parking charges.

It basically went up to £7 last year ( I’m usually there just less than three hours). Compare with Robin park retail which is normally 3 hours free; other than match days. I live between Preston & Leyland, and fuel for my return journey is about £12.

I did travel to a couple of matches last season by train from Leyland or Preston, at an average price of £5.10 for a Saturday off peak return ticket. That’s great, but not so enticing on a wet & windy Tuesday night.

Alternatively, I can view games online; from freeview sites or pay for view (circa £15 per match).

So, if you do the maths it is becoming less attractive to actually get off your backside and attend the games. However, I have always preferred to attend as many matches as possible; ever since the Northern Premier days.

I discussed this with a club official last season, and made a suggestion that car parking should be free for ST holders; or at the very worst a nominal add on fee of £40. I don’t think this was taken seriously when I got a retort of “It’s nearly £11 at Leeds United. To which I replied: “we are not Leeds !”

If the club are serious about selling more STs, then they need to listen to the fans and consider these type of incentives to get fans to “buy in”. It’s not dancing girls at half time that pull the punters in; it a Value For Money day out that counts.

P.S I also mentioned the price of beer as well.

Doesn’t matter one little bit to me if the stadium has a sponsor or not. Danson saw fit to take the ownership off WAFC and form a stadium company.

            I like all this.

I think we will do a lot better this season than people think.

But my point is, we have NEVER made anything from stadium sponsorship anyway. Where as other clubs, like Bolton, have had several sponsors over the years. Its all more money coming in. Granted it would be a shared benefit of both us, and the rugby.  Thats one thing Bolton, Preston, Blackpool, etc will always have over us. Any income coming into the stadium is all theirs. Where ours is split between 2.

Are you sure the Football Club or the fatfucks would get anything from any Stadium income whether that be sponsorship money or pie sales etc?

Certain the parking was free when the stadium was built.

Sponsoring the stadium doesn’t benefit either club as its a separate entity.

With regards parking, there are plenty of free places to park that will get you away from the ground quicker than sitting in a car park that you’ve paid £7 to use. Bottom of Frog Lane, the industrial estate near the Pier and up by Arnold Clark are all about 10 mins walk away and can have you on your way 15 mins after full time.

Jamie Carragher parks his Porsche in Worsley Hall. I shit you not.

Near the island towards bottom of Montrose Ave. Seen him and his dad walking to the stadium.
