To be quite honest, I really like who we have brought in. I think we have a good mix in there.
I wouldn’t mind us adding some experience and also a proven striker. I think there’s time yet.
Been following the PFA games for free agents. Most of them I wouldn’t touch. But I would look at Daniel Johnson. Was always a thorn in our side for Preston and still looks like he has something. Would be an ideal player to have to bring on to see out games. A lot of experience.
Bizarrely after all the talk about a lack of goals in the team – I think we have goals in the team
Can we keep goals out though?! Jury is out on the keeper and if Fox and Mellish are starters than I’m worried

We can’t clear a ball. I don’t know if we are zonal, or man marking. I know we don’t have men on the posts these days at corners…a lot of teams don’t do it now.
We seem slow to react to balls into the box. Ball watching. I was learned in under 12s playing centre back, not to let a ball come in and bounce. The keeper seems very shaky. Installs no confidence in me at all.
In truth, we’ve chopped and changed to much. Lost our keeper, our defence/back line. Playing like strangers, because they pretty much ARE strangers. Was it a mistake chopping Kerr and Aimson at the same time? Definitely. I could criticise Aimson, but he would have given us that experience at the back and held us together. (I think Burns is good though)
Will Carragher go? I wouldn’t be surprised, but I don’t think he is better than League One at best. If he does go, he’s the last of any value and it will confirm they’ve just asset stripped. We will have no value left in the squad, and a team heading straight to League 2. Hoping that loan signings will save us again. I dont think they will, this season.
I really do think Danson is pocketing any transfer money and has been since Lang was sold. I reckon about 7 or 8 million. My gut feeling is that if he breaks even, he will then walk away and ‘gifts Latics to the Supporters Club. If that happens, I am done. Because the club wouldn’t last 6 months like that. No chance. End result, Wigan Rugby get the stadium.

Danson won’t turn up for a Latics game but I could imagine him there with Nandy and Andy the fraud discussing shite whilst sipping champagne.

We hear we are signing someone, then a few days later he is having a medical…then nothing happens. Why does it take us so long to get a signing done? Other clubs sign 3 or 4 players in the time it takes us to get one done.
Are we bargaining that hard its taking some doing?
And then news earlier on that Trevitt is injured and out for 3 months. Another brilliant waste of wages. Clubs an utter joke.
Pitiful…..Caldwell said in May that we need to concentrate on signing “robust ” players. So F### me we sign an already crocked Trevitt !!!…..Alarm bells were deafening last season culminating in a return to the treatment table at Port Vale. With the position we’re in financially his sign made absolutely no sense……Same Perkins!!!!…4 goals in 54 games over 4 year!!……Who the hell researches the data.?…..Does anyone???….We could all see after Taylors rescue act where one of our top priorities needed to be during our summer recruitment. 2 losses in and 4 windows days left and we are scratching around to plug the obvious void. I think we have potential in the squad to slowly turn things positive but the stats of our strikers is shocking and I certainly don’t believe they will improve anytime soon. I’ve stood behind Costelloe but how many more times do I have to listen about his work rate? Wont register in the stats…..goals will.
And to rub salt into the wound, our excellent Head Coach comes up with……”But it’s something we knew might happen” The club is a fuckin’ laughing stock but not funny.

Weir shouldn’t be here either, only a player because of his dad. And McManaman, another waste of a wage. I bet they’re all on about 2-2.5k a week. Let’s say 6-7k a week between the 3 of them. (Trevitt, McManaman and Weir)
That money could’ve gone towards a decent strikers wage. I believe Taylor is on 9.2k a week. That would’ve gone a long way towards it. Or if not Taylor, I bet we could get someone decent for those kind of wages.
I dislike so much about the club. I said 2 weeks ago, I am only going for GC and the players. But when he’s doing interviews and coming out with some of the comments he has, I am having my doubts. So early in the season as well, and I am having doubts. I will have even more doubts if we get nothing from Wimbledon. And I’ve looked at MK Dons team and think they will beat us. Their midfield looks like it will over power us, and they have Nombe and Aaron Collins up front. I predict a defeat on Wednesday here and now.
Deadline on Wednesday night as well, and we’re playing. If we don’t bring a front man in for some goals, we are done. We also need another midfielder I think. Some experience. 2 experienced heads available….

Joe Ralls, ex Cardiff and did well for Plymouth, last season. One of them to come on and help see games out and just give us their experience…its what we need. Some guile.
Ultimately the formation he has been playing doesn’t work. Didn’t work for Lowe, or Caldwell. Need to go to a 4-2-3-1. Straight back 4, 2 defensive midfielders, 3 attacking mids with Walsh as a CAM playing behind a front man with 2 wider attacking mids. They call the 2 defensive midfielders the ‘Double Pivot’. They give the defence more cover and allow the full backs to attack, whilst covering for them.
With 3 at the back, trying to play wingbacks, we leave far too much space in behind them. We fell apart with it at Bolton last season and we still haven’t learned our lesson. It definitely needs to be changed.
But will he realise? It’s a formation a lot of teams are playing now.

Still an absolute travesty that we don’t have one decent striker and are carrying four who at best are shite.
Whitworth in at long last, now go get us a centre forward that can actually bulge the onion bag!
