As I have said on another thread, we find ourselves now with a squad of players that has no actual value. If we needed to raise funds to keep the club afloat, as we have in the past, the asset-stripping by this ownership has left us in an awful position. We have a squad of little value, weak in quality, and no backbone. Let’s have a look.
Joe Whitworth-signed for a free, with an agreement of a sell on figure from any future sale. I think we would be lucky to get 300k, and would pay Palace a chunk of that.
James Carragher. 300k at most.
Jeremiah C-Mullen. 200k
Morgan Fox. 200k. At most.
Llyton Chapman. 100k
Connor Barrett. 250k at most.
Finley Burns. 250k.
Archie Harris. 100k.
Fraser Murray. 300k at most.
Jensen Weir. 250k
Max Power. 200k
Reggie Walsh. Loan.
Charlie Gray. Loan.
Joe Walsh. Loan.
Brad Burrowes. Loan.
Chris Sze. 100k
Dara Costelloe. 300k
Christian Saydee. 350k
Scott Hogan. 100k
K’Marni Miller. 100k at most.
Adam Moseley. 100k at most. Out on loan.
Callum McManaman. 0k
When you look at that list, Christ, its frightening isn’t it? Worst squad we have ever had, I think Absolutely shambolic.
I blame the owners, and Caldwell. It’s that shit, he cannot possibly think that squad is half decent? It has relegation ALL OVER it. No value, no quality, no backbone to it. Did we all actually think Power was going to be like Lothar Matthaus, or something? He was shite for Bradford last season as well.
We let better players leave than what we brought in. Simple as that. If I were a manager in that club, I’d walk. They buy time, the owners, by bringing in ‘old boys’. Sorry, doesn’t wash with me. If we’re shit, we’re shit. And we really are.
Any manager worth their salt would walk. Ryan Lowe gave up the ghost. Hes been slated and called rotten, but he clearly asked for backing and was told no. He’s said recently he “couldn’t bring in the players he wanted”. The way we are, we would still be shit if Guardiola came in.
Clubs rotten. To the core. Minus 5k attendances on the way…
The club are over confident. Announcing Mansfield at home will now be Tues 3rd Nov. 3 days after Bromley at home. Slip up in that and the crowd on the Tuesday WILL be the lowest in years and years. Calling it now.

22 October 2026 at 6:49 am #207965I look at that list and agree that the squad there is pretty much worthless. But then if you were to put their annual salary next to each estimated worth, there would be a lot where the figure in column b would be greater than column a, which is why we are continually in such a financial mess.
We appear to have nobody where their resale value exceeds their wages over the remainder of their contract, which is pretty scary.
If crowds do get as low as you suggest, then it’s probably time to shut parts of the ground, starting with the south stand, which is barely occupied anyway.

The forecast is definitely bleak
