Because I suspect you knew it was racist ;) It’s the sort of latent racism that my old man and his contemporaries used to display. You know the kind of comment: “There’s nowt wrong with blacks – every house should have one”. Delivered with a shrug and a smile and a “racist? what, me?” quizzical look. Deep down, they’re racist.
