… yesterday, in the second half, I received my first ever pass in a professional football game.
It was hit very long and direct to me by the Spurs left-back (I think) and I muscled off the would-be challenger sat to my right before volleying the ball first time (left-footed, mind) in the general direction of the press box.
Very pleasing.
I witnessed that Griff. It was a clearance of pure accuracy picked straight from the Emmerson Thome skills locker.
On a personal note of my own, I didn’t receive a phone call to say my wife had gone into labour, and therefore managed to watch the whole game undisturbed. (I deleted the word ‘positive from this statement)

I made a very sweet connection, if I say so myself, considering that I was simultaneously fighting off the man in V102 and emailing a “Martinez Out” plea to despots-on-sunloungers@barbados.net.

In all the years watching the latics only time ever the ball landed at me was at Ninian park Cardiff when my right footed drop kick landed in Phil Hughes arms :D
