I was at the game today, worst performance I have seen (when I have actually been to the game) this season. Such a big 6 pointer, if we win we basically guarantee our safety but if we lose we are in big trouble again and Monday’s famous win counts for nothing much.
A loss is a loss for me, losing 9-1 or 2-1, it’s just 0 points but it’s the humiliation and lack of effort that bothers me. Those 6 fingered mongs singing in their little corner about how bad we are and me looking and completely agreeing with what their saying. Would you believe that was the same team that beat Liverpool just 5 days ago (apart from 1 player who arguably didn’t do much against Liverpool on the night and was replaced by the so called hottest prospect in the UK).
The worst peformance of the day had to go to Caldwell, at fault for their 1st goal, gave away a penalty (all be it debatable), turned far too easy by Muamba for the 3rd and a clumsy touch and attempt of a clearance for their 4th. Now, I think this lad has done extremely well since arriving from Celtic and for me, has been Martinez’s best signing (along with Diame and McCarthy) but today, he really was poor. I just hope this was a one off and he bounces back.
The referee was a disgrace, didn’t give us anything and only started booking Bolton players towards the end of the 2nd half.
I am a big Martinez fan and was delighted with Monday’s result but there is no excuse for that performance today, manager and players at fault. Bolton were better than us, hungrier and had more determination to win.
A very poor day all round, I am very dissapointed with the effort, N’Zogbia and Hugo were awful, didn’t look interested and our full backs, Boyce and Figueroa were out of position on numerous occasions, Boycey isn’t the answer at right back, neither him or Mario are good enough.
McCarthy had his worse game in a Wigan shirt for me, not helped by the players around him but the only decent performances came from Bramble (when on the ball, not with his defensive efforts) and Diame.
CHRIS KIRKLAND………………………… is for me, a terrible keeper, can’t kick, doesn’t command his area, poor distribution and to round things off his positioning and shot stopping today were awful. When he tries to save a penalty it’s just laughable, basically shows the penalty taker the goal and falls over. The 1st goal went straight through him, 3rd and 4th goals were just poor positioning and poor shot stopping.
All in all, we did deserve to lose, maybe not 4-0 but with that sort of defending and goalkeeping it’s expected and Bolton could have had more. 4-0 with over 20 mins left when I escaped and I was fearing more to come.
Roll on Villa, we need to bounce back!

>>>MORENO WORKED HIS SOCKS OFF AGAINST LIVERPOOL, SHIELDED THE BALL WELL, AND WAS INCHES OF GRABBING A GOAL. A REAL HANDFUL. SO WHY WAS HE DROPPED TODAY? WHY CHANGE A WINNING SIDE? MARTINEZ IS A CLOWN FOR CHANGING THINGS TOO MUCH.The worst peformance of the day had to go to Caldwell, at fault for their 1st goal, gave away a penalty (all be it debatable), turned far too easy by Muamba for the 3rd and a clumsy touch and attempt of a clearance for their 4th. >>>I THOUGHT DAVIES FOULED HIM FOR THE FIRST GOAL, A BLATANT PUSH. OVERALL, NO WORSE THAN ANYBODY ELSE.The referee was a disgrace, didn’t give us anything and only started booking Bolton players towards the end of the 2nd half.
>>>NO, I DON’T THINK WE CAN BLAME THE REFEREE. WE WERE JUST AWFUL.I am a big Martinez fan and was delighted with Monday’s result but there is no excuse for that performance today, manager and players at fault. Bolton were better than us, hungrier and had more determination to win.
>>>YES, I AGREE WITH THAT. AM I A MARTINEZ FAN? I LOVE THE BLOKE AND THE LEGEND….BUT I’M NOT SURE ABOUT HIM AS MANAGER, SIMPLY BECAUSE OF THE THINGS HE DOES. TACTICS, SUBS, SELECTIONS, ETC.A very poor day all round, I am very dissapointed with the effort, N’Zogbia and Hugo were awful, didn’t look interested and our full backs, Boyce and Figueroa were out of position on numerous occasions, Boycey isn’t the answer at right back, neither him or Mario are good enough.
>>>FUNNY HOW THEY CAN PLAY WELL AGAINST A ‘TOP’ SIDE THOUGH, EH? PLAYING FOR A MOVE?McCarthy had his worse game in a Wigan shirt for me, not helped by the players around him but the only decent performances came from Bramble (when on the ball, not with his defensive efforts) and Diame.
>>>MCCARTHY GOT BATTERED IN THE MIDFIELD. HE LOOKED HIS AGE, TODAY, AGAINST SOME TOUGH PLAYERS.CHRIS KIRKLAND………………………… is for me, a terrible keeper, can’t kick, doesn’t command his area, poor distribution and to round things off his positioning and shot stopping today were awful. The 1st goal went straight through him, 3rd and 4th goals were just poor positioning and poor shot stopping.
>>>I’M NOT A KIRKLAND FAN, EITHER. DOES NOT COMMAND HIS AREA, AND LOOKS INDECISIVE WHEN COMING FOR CROSSES.All in all, we did deserve to lose, maybe not 4-0 but with that sort of defending and goalkeeping it’s expected and Bolton could have had more. 4-0 with over 20 mins left when I escaped and I was fearing more to come.
>>>I TOO LEFT WHEN THE 4TH WENT IN, AS MANY DID. CREDIT TO BOLTON. THEY WENT OUT AND DID THE JOB, BUT WERE ASSISTED BY OUR WOEFUL DISPLAY. IT WAS AN EMBARRASSMENT.Roll on Villa, we need to bounce back!
>>>I’M NOT HOPEFUL.
