I would be surprised if Burnley get 8 points from their next 7 games and Hull the same from their last 8, another win could possibly see us safe I think, what points do you think will be needed ?
22 March 2010 at 2:07 pm #273236 should be enough!
22 March 2010 at 2:50 pm #273263 from Hull and another 3 i reckon.
That said, I hope the other 3 dont have to come agaisnt Chelsea
22 March 2010 at 3:50 pm #2733136 points should be enough this season. Pompey & Burnley are doomed. Hull have a pretty easy run-in on paper, although turning that into points is easier said than done.
22 March 2010 at 3:56 pm #27332i think around 34-35 will lead us to safety
22 March 2010 at 3:59 pm #27333Burnley have got 1 point from there last 6 games and hull have 3 from theres. Can’t see how they can get that many points from there remaining fixtures when they have to play each other aswell.
22 March 2010 at 6:21 pm #27341I can’t see Hull or Burnley getting to 30 points. Hull might get 4 more, draw at home to Fulham and beat Burnley at home but I think that’s it.
Burnley might get another point at home to Blackburn because it’s a derby but I think that’s it.
Party on boys! we’re safe again!
:)22 March 2010 at 6:46 pm #27342It’s is also the weekly poll, viewable lower down on the right hand side of the site on every page except for the message board and prediction league.
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
22 March 2010 at 7:55 pm #27352Can’t think we’d need more than 4/5 points lads, still think we should be aiming for 40 though, the 3 stand out fixtures are Hull, Pompey and West Ham.

No pressure on them as such, their only real desire will be to impress other Premiership clubs enough to gain a quick return to the top flight.
Hull and Burnley still have to face each other, so one or both will drop points.
Looking at our position, if you can’t rule us out, then you would have to say Wolves and West Ham are in more trouble than us and Bolton are still in it..
For me, 34 points will do it, another 3 points. That would mean Burnley and Hull winning three games would not be enough and I can’t see them doing that.
Another 5 points and it would mean Burnley and Hull winning 4 games would still not be enough, so 36 points would have to mean were home and dry.22 March 2010 at 10:46 pm #27364Remember 2006/07? We’d beaten Man City in March and we were on 32 points and 6 above the bottom 3, and seemingly save after a hard season. Yet I think we all know that we had to rely on a last day win to secure survival.
My message is that we may seem safe, and we probably will stay up, but we still need to get behind the team because, as I said above, nothing is certain until the season is over.
C’mon the Latics
22 March 2010 at 11:35 pm #27367Good point.
Im not sure Burnley will stay up but Hull have a run in that gives me the jitters. It has been done before and all that “it aint gonna happen” b@ll@@ks that gets quoted every year winds me up.it could twist and turn very easily and historically always has done so we have a few more points to win yet.
Hull and Portsmouth at home are the two absolute musts and i think we can get something from the Fulham and West ham games.
We are not safe and there is plenty of hard work and worry still to come.22 March 2010 at 11:48 pm #27368Anonymous
