On the 6th April 1957, Sunderland were fined £5,000 by the Football Association for alleged payment irregularities to players. Club directors, the manager and several players were either fined or suspended although the suspensions on the players were lifted after a few months.

:D :D :D    :oops:7 April 2010 at 10:22 am #28881What about the payment irregularities made a bit closer to home? I am led to believe that a Mr J Scotland has been paid over £1,000,000 having masqueraded as a premiership striker since July 2009.
Nice to see someone bothering with Mr Cheesehead’s posts – they generally get ignored!

8 April 2010 at 12:58 am #28943how did you become a sunderland fan? :?
8 April 2010 at 1:26 am #28954What about Flo and Gordon? :o :o :oIs that the same Flo who scored against Man Utd on his debut? Granted he was a lanky streak of p! ss who couldnt win a thing in the air, but we didnt have to wait 9 months to see him break his duck.
You’ve lost me on Gordon. We havent had a striker called Gordon. However if you mean our goalkeeper, then you really are deluded if you think he’s not one of the top 3 keepers in the country at the moment – a damn sight better than Calamity Chris the Treatment Room King.
8 April 2010 at 1:31 am #28956Who is Chris King !
8 April 2010 at 1:33 am #28958how did you become a sunderland fan? :?I got fed up of watching the lower-league cr@p on offer at Springfield Park at the time the club were continually collecting money from the fans for covering the terrace behind the Springy End (which never came) and decided as soon as I was old enough I would watch cr@p at a higher level.
As a student giving up most of my paper-round money to a non-existant project, I felt that the club took money under false pretences off the fans.
8 April 2010 at 1:34 am #28959Who is Chris King ! :oops:Wan’s younger, less talented brother. :D

8 April 2010 at 1:42 am #28965Mutty quite clearly is not a Sunderland fan and more than likely not even a rugby fan, he is just a wind up merchant sat in his bedroom on his own occasionally shouting down to his Mum to brew up !!
