In 1994 our final home game was against Gillingham, the 2-0 win came courtesy of goals from Andy Lyons (penalty) and Neil Morton. Only 1,346 showed to see Latics narrowly avoid the drop out of the Football League.
In 1985 Latics ended a 4 game winless streak as they took on a struggling Swansea City at Springfield Park. Minds were weary as we were in a much cluttered schedule of games, this was our ninth this month and the 2-0 win was priceless. David Lowe and Gary Bennett were the goal scorers in front of just under 2,500 fans.
