Lengthy and interesting interview with Roberto in the Mail today. He talks about his upbringing and footballing philosophy.
More importantly, however, we finally have an interviewer who is prepared to raise the thorny issue of brown shoes with black trousers in the national press. Roberto says it is not a superstition, rather that he simply considers brown shoes to be his matchday uniform. Odd, and a bit lame really, but at least he shows he is prepared to compromise by posing in black trousers with black shoes for the accompanying photograph.
And some of you claim that Roberto doesn’t listen to the fans and isn’t prepared to adapt? Well, he clearly listens to this one and furthermore is prepared to change tack when it comes to fashion issues.
I’ll have him in a blue and white scarf by the start of the autumn, mark my words. He knows it makes sense.

8 May 2010 at 6:41 pm #32395griff would it be possible to persuade martinez to use is superb fashion sense to persue a career within that industry, surely there must be an opening for “one of the future best managers in europe” (quote david whelan) in river island or next, perhaps he could even aspire to the next level at M&S.

i have talked sense all season from the st mirren friendly to the debacle at stamford bridge today – martinez is totally clueless in every aspect of his management and a career in fashion may be his best option.

One of the first things my wife told me was that brown shoes with black slacks is a big fashion no no. I’ve since heard it on a couple of the crap fashion progs on TV I endure with her on week nights
So it would appear from that that Bobby is a clueless at fashion as he is with football management!!! ;)
