1985 saw us play Rotherham United at Springfield Park in front of 3,012 fans. Paul Jewell and Graham Barrow secured a 2-1 win that continued a six game unbeaten run at home.
2008 saw an already safe Wigan Athletic lose 0-2 to Manchester United in the last game of the season at the JJB Stadium. The win for United was enough to see them crowned as Premier League Champions and they lifted the trophy on Latics’ pitch in front of over 25,133 fans.
