Memory is a little faded, but wasnt this clown offerred to us when he was at Bury for something like £75,000, then again when at Preston for something like £300k – before he suddenly made it big and went off to Pompey for something like £6 million

God Nugent is awful, definitely not Prem standard and best off in the Npower Leagues.
Notice he was on loan from Pompey to Burnley, who both got relegated and Pompey are in dire financial problems, he couldn’t have picked a worse mix of teams surely!
He was on loan TO Portsmouth wasn’t he. I remember a reporter interviewing him when there saying ‘I bet your glad you will still get paid on time (or something like that)’ and his reply was along the lines of ‘no, the deal means that Portsmouth pay me so I’m in the same boat as these lads;.
Could be very mistaken sorry, but take no notice in Nugent to be fair. Would have him here though.

He’s a big lad though. Isn’t one that is just a pace player. What I mean is he will put up a fight when needed. He has never been given a chance REALLY aswell.

The problem that I have with him, is that he’s too Marlon King. Tore up the Championship, then has shown flashes of what he’s capable of whilst in the Premiership, but just doesn’t look like he belongs at this level. King looked the sort that would put his head in too, lest we forget.
Whether or not he’s had a chance is null. He would have on merit, had he been good enough in training or in the (limited) game time that he has had.
I don’t really want to see him playing for us, but at the same time who else are we likely to get? That’s the sad situation a club like ours is in, our transfer targets are generally nothing to write home about – you just have to hope that most of them find good form for the team.

Bobs signings should be alot better this summer as he has had time to get his scouts out and about and will know now what he needs were last summer he didnt really have the time to tell the scouts what he needed.
Dont want nugent not good enough and has bad reputation.
