Lets hope No 3 is the exception to the rule.
More Martinez delusions i fear, as an attacking midfielder he has rated as 5.0 on average this season, 35 appearances, 1 as sub with zero goals. Conversley, one David Cotterill, (now a fellow Swansea midfielder), in the same season whilst at Sheffield United has just 18 appearances and 6 goals, with a season rating of 7.0.
Now, if Cotterill wasnt up to it with us, how can this lad be? And if he cant even get a new deal at Swansea i fear that Martinez is just bringing in more and more Swansea rubbish.
There are only two possible outcomes on this…..no doubt that most of you will view this as an incredible signing.

Good day out, invite to the footy, watched an excellent Balckpool absoluteley ‘tonk’ Swansea (one to watch next season – a bit of what we were like about them) – and was absolutely gobsmacked with Brittons performance (subbed after 59 mins)
To say he was garbage would be insulting to garbage players.
Absolute and utter tosh.
Mr Martinez (I know you read this forum) – stay well away from this fella.
In my humble opinion……….. ;)

He’s actually had some offers from OTHER clubs.

Very well thought of in some circles apparently, and you have to remember the market in which we, as a club, operate.
Also, I’ll take the Martinez view having worked with him day in day out for a couple of years rather than yours which is based on a boozy afternoon by the sea :)

Ouch! I’ve had my opinions challenged before but to suggest that I mix football with alcohol is totally scandalous ;)
Like you say, we do operate in a difficult market, however, I am still of the same opinion about him.
You can put lipstick on a pig………….. :)

Thats right, he plays for Swansea so must be one of the worst players on the planet.
7 June 2010 at 11:49 am #36070Now, if Cotterill wasnt up to it with us, how can this lad be?Hahahahahaha cracking joke, or is this not the joke thread….. How on earth can you base the quality of one players potential based on the experience of another.
7 June 2010 at 2:56 pm #36081i am all for signing britton from swansea on the basis of the other 2 martinez signed off them have been a disaster so surely this one must be a case of third time lucky ?
or would that have been ferre bodde ?
you think with all the ‘premiership quality’ players that martinez had under him at swansea,he could of at least got them in the play -offs !!!
i often wonder why us on the dark side question martinez’s ability, perhaps now we know.
7 June 2010 at 5:08 pm #36106The so called dark side question Martinez’s ability because they prematurely wrote him off after only a handful of games and now feel obliged to keep up the facade.
