100% eh !!! Are you sure ! Nuneaton was right.
The first “away” team to win a competitive match at the JJB Stadium was….Wigan Athletic. They beat non-League Cambridge City in the FA Cup 1st Round on 30 October 1999. They were technically the away team (and in fact wore an all-gold change strip), as the game had been switched from Cambridge’s ground which had been deemed unsuitable to host the tie. So there ya go ! A good pub trivia quiz question I think you will agree !

To be totally anal – the programme was a Cambridge one (black and white cover) – and although Wikipedia says that Latics used the away dressing room, they didn’t.
Wikipedia is no more the truth than Osama Bin Laden was to blame for 911 ! Technically Wigan was the ” Away ” team and so therefore they were the first ” Away” team to win a competitive game at the JJB ! They did play in the away strip as well ! 8-)
