On winning the World Cup Prediction League, but only just as lano23 got a last minute maximum to nearly clinch it for himself.
Thanks for all that entered, it made it a bit more interesting.
I will get next years Premier League Predictions League set up soon, there will be a free play for fun and also a prize league. As soon as I can work out figures I will let you know more.
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
12 July 2010 at 3:26 pm #39799Well done Bobby C, if the cursed scoring system was correct it would have been a lot closer.
12 July 2010 at 8:29 pm #39832Have you any suggestions for this season’s prediction league?
I was going to go with:
Correct home score 2 points
Correct away score 2 points
Correct result 6 points
Bonus for all correct 5 points.Any game involving Wigan Athletic would get a 5 point bonus for having everything correct.
So 15 points for a maximum, but 20 if it was a Wigan Athletic game max.

I think the scores should be on the basis of correct result, then bonus if you get the correct score for either or both teams.
Players shouldnt get a score if they dont get the result correct.

Is goal difference involved too ?

How do you get “bonus if you get the correct score for either or both teams” if you have to get the correct result…. surely you would have to get both scores correct to get the result???It would be a very low scoring league if you were on only getting points for guessing a correct result.
Yes difference in goals counts as well, but it has never mattered in all the years of running this….

19 July 2010 at 11:44 am #40342What I mean is say the result was 3-1 to team X, you would get a point or 5 or what ever, but maybe get a bonus if you get the one correct score i.e. 3-0 would get you more than 2-0, as you get the 3 right.
The problem with the world cup scores was, if you get a score correct i.e. england to beat slovenia say 4-2, would get you less points if you would have had 3-0, because the 0 would have got you more points than the result.
Just saying thats all.
19 July 2010 at 12:39 pm #40345Why dont you just do a correct score league. Everyone predicts the weeks games and for every correct score predicted you get say 3pts. So if in say the first week I predict 3 exact scorelines I am then on 9 pts ! Should anyone be tied at the end of the season simply look back on the predictions and the player who predicted the most “away” correct scores wins !
24 July 2010 at 11:45 am #41008Can we include ‘selected’ Carling Cup & FA Cup matches ?
Also, will there be a Euro 2012 Qualifiers League or is that not possible because it’s during the Premier League season ?

I will be setting it up today/tomorrow Euro 2012 qualifiers will take up too much time, but I might include the final 16 games for the Carling and FA Cup to mix it up, what do you think??
I am going to go with the points system quoted above unless there are any better systems put forward, so now is the time to speak.
